I got back not long ago. Brilliant day with some superb sightings, will post a full report when I get things sorted. My best spotting at MAN yet 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
I just checked the train times and I should get there around 09:15, going on the earliest train from Scarborough which is direct to the airport. Got the video charged and plenty of memory cards and spare batteries for the camera, so I am all set 😀
Comet,
What will be good tomorrow is the BY flight to Cancun – it’ll be good as I’ll be on it.
Make sure you give me a wave!! 🙂
Will do 😀 Hope you have a great trip 😀
Congratulations 😀 I know how it feels to be driven mad by the ILS in FS2002, all the instructions in the tutorials I downloaded gave different advice and it wasn’t until I downloaded an actual flight on final approach that I cracked it. I promptly decided to get more practice and then started joining VAs. I don’t do many visual approaches, usually if I do it’s when I’m flying the Loganair routes with the Twin Otter for British Airways Virtual (best one is Benbecula to Barra with that landing on Barra beach 😀 )
Thanks for the replies 😀 Estonian and Sky Europe would be great, I’ve not bagged them before. As someone who does not get much chance to go spotting, I am happy with most things at MAN, but there are some there that I’ve got loads of times, like the World Tail Dash 8s. Portugalia would be good as well, as I’ve never seen them and certainly an ERJ170 would top it! I saw one in BRU last year but did not get chance to get a photo of it, so I’m still waiting patiently for that one 😀 I just hope the weather will not be too bad.
Thanks for the replies. Pity about the Syrian, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled for the Challenger.
Here’s mine. It’s an Andrewsarchus, a prehistoric mammal which featured on “Walking with Beasts” (simply the best natural history series the BBC has ever made).

Not the kind of photo most girls would choose, I have to admit :diablo:

Great shots of a great airport. I have never had problems with being moved on by police when I’ve made videos at LCY. The best place is just past the terminal building, where there are seats and an unobstructed view of the runways. One way or another you will see all aircraft from here, regardless of which runway they land on. And some of the DLR stations have a bus to the airport, which is cheaper than the LCY shuttle bus between Liverpool Street or Canary Wharf. That’s how we used to get there when we were flying on VLM.
Great shots. The nose spot on the Air India 777 is gross, it would look better with a white nose.
Brilliant Kev! I think the SN 146 is one I flew on last November and in March this year – OO-DJG. I can’t wait for my trip to BHX 😀
