My Mum recently sent a complaint about the Royal Mail to Adam Crozier, who is the Royal Mail boss. The reply we received was full of what you would call “management speak” and fancy terminology.

I’ve got some happy memories of air shows at Finningley – particularly the Vulcan Scramble and the total nutter in the RAAF F111K at the Silver Jubilee Display!!! 😮

    Robin Hood……. :D:D:D

I was at that display 😀 We used to go every year until 1983.

Some media were saying that this new Finningley airport was the first commercial airport to open in the UK for 30 years, which as you know is wrong, so I wrote a letter to one newspaper to correct them.

Its also the first airport to be opened in the UK since Stansted back in 1996.

Wrong!!!!!! London City was opened in 1987, Stansted was open then, so Stansted is not the second-newest airport in the UK.

Try Isafjordur in Iceland. I flew that for real in a Fokker 50, and it is hellish, right between a mountain side and a fjord with very little in the way of navigation help (in FS2002). The mountain looms at you as soon as you take off and you have to make some very steep turns as you climb to avoid crashing. It’s also a short runway.

A couple of days ago I got a CD-ROM featuring just about every game produced for the ZX Spectrum and have spent hours playing them! For anyone who had a Spec and misses some of those early classic games, I cannot recommend this CD-ROM enough! It was so good to play Atic Atac, Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy etc all over again 😀

What were these “Belgian” citizens doing out there in the first place? I would imagine they were about as “Belgian” as the so called “British” ones were good British stock. They only claim to have nationalities of these countries when it suits them, ie they were happy enough to go to Afghanistan to kill British soldiers, as they did not consider themselves British, but when they get caught they are suddenly “British” and expect the UK government to bail them out and the UK taxpayers to pay them millions in compensation.

With the amount of money she earns she should be able to afford a childminder, having kids is no excuse not to do the work you are employed to do.

And at the end of the day, it could be bad for women wanting to get into this line of work because airlines will just assume that they will want to have brats and deny them the chances they deserve to pursue a career as an airline pilot. All too often companies have used the brat excuse for not promoting women, not all women want to be saddled with brats and those who do should make provisions themselves.

Beautiful photos of a beautiful aircraft. There are too few Comets (and indeed other classic airliners) preserved, when you consider the keenness for preserving historic military types. It is completely out of proportion, the airliners are as much a part of aviation history as the Lancaster, the Spitfire, Hurricane etc, but read any preservation and historic magazine and all you get are warbirds, all aviation museums have warbirds but very few have airliners. Those which do should be supported.
