Serbia shot down a couple of “invisibles” (sorry, we didn’t know they were invisible;) during the Kosovo War…
btw, anybody hear of a Czech anti-stealth radar, called Tamara?
You can see the video of the crash here:

Serbia & Montenegro has about ~60-70 of these in its inventory, as well as about ~30 in Serb Republic’s Air Force inventory(one of two entities that comprise Bosnia & Herzegovina)
Thank God, nobody was killed in this crash. Two pilots are recovering, Santa is OK and the 8 year old kid that was on board came out without a scratch:)

There might be no other choice but buying domestic weapons if the current nationalism/isolationism is going to prevail in Serbia and Montenegro. It would be quite costly, though.
What the hell are you talking about?
Do you know a thing or two about Serbia & Montenegro?
Ah, so those are the aircraft Bulgaria bought…
Good for them, though, I hope when Serbia & Montenegro decides to buy similar aircraft, they will be domestic-made.
Any photos of these aircraft?
JAT never stopped serving Peking(Beijing) so thats why I forgot to mention it.
As for whether JAT is considering buying new aircraft…thats a bit moot:)
They recently placed an order for a couple(4-8?) of Airbus A319/320 aircraft, but cancelled it due to “lack of money”.
But only a couple of months later, news about Boeing building a large regional service center(where all Boeing airplanes operated in Eastern Europe will go to be serviced & repaired) right beside Belgrade Airport, appeared on Serbian government websites.
So, we can only guess what this means:D
Personally, im guessing that if this new line to New York succeeds, they will buy a couple of wide-body aircraft, probably B767, to service such cities as New York, LA, Chicago and Toronto – where a large number of Serbians and other ex-Yugo’s live.
Of course JAT did Sydney. Not just Sydney, but Melbourne too.
As well as Kaula Lumpour(sp?) and Singapore!
In North America, they serviced New York, Chicago, LA & Toronto.
bump!
