Chinese ASRAAM…. Official PL-10
how does the h-6k compare to tu-22m3
In terms of aerodynamic,I think H-6K cannot be compare to Tu-22m3.
Tu-22M3 is a Mach 2 supersonic fast fire and run cruise missile carrier while H-6K is just a stand off cruise missile carrier…
As for avionics, no comment. 😀
as hard as it is for you to swallow, the Tejas is going to enter service. And, the Indian Govt. is wholeheartedly supporting the program because it knows that money spent on R&D within the nation is not money spent badly instead of spending it on getting Russians, Europeans or Americans more jobs..200 light fighters would be another $10-15 billion if the IAF has to source it from abroad. for about half that price, the IAF will be able to buy 200 odd Tejas’, and the country will benefit from all the technology that has been or is being developed for it.
What Indian shall do,is to first develop a fighter aircraft within its ability and only gain enough experience and capabilites then they shall take the next step of producing a far more advance and ambition projects.
For example, currently Indian has no way produce a engine like Kaveri indigneous and they set themselves such high standard due to nationalism…
Only when u send yr first man to space by yrself then u talk abt landing man on moon…
The advancement of BVRAAM will decide the fate of interceptor…
Swerve… the USAF built the C-17 to replace the C-141, NOT the C-130.
Yes, the C-17 has a wider/taller cargo compartment than the C-141, and has better tactical T/O-landing-ground handling performance, but it is still exactly that… the C-141 replacement.
The C-130J is the replacement for the older C-130s.
They even has a C-130J 30 version which is lengthened(additional spaces) and Payload increase to nearly 20tons
The small cone of F-1 can hardly install any radar better than F-5 😀
Rafale – why so expensive? LeClerc – why so expensive? :diablo:
wouldn’t Eurofighter price be worse?
Man show me a Chinese aircraft that has no European or Russian tech?
FBC-1 has British engines
J-10 Russian engine and Israeli design Lavi as base, russian assistance
FC-1 Russian engine adn Mig assistance
K-8 western engine
J-7G=MiG-21
L-15=based upon Yakolev assistance from the Yak-130
F-8= license built engines from Russia copied from russia, reverse engineered MiG-23 features
ARJ-21=american engines and subsystem, russian assistance and looks a lot like the DC-9in fact Golden Dragon Germany builds the Eurofighter and the Tiger and also forms part of many european products
Golden dragon clearly mention. Building an aircraft entirely from scratch. U mention borrow tech but we did not denied reverse engineer or license product… Plus Chinese is able to carry out its modification and upgrade of aircraft without assistance!
Yawn!! If PRC generals are actually stupid enough to think US would be thinking of Wal-Mart of all the things if Korea is threatened then china needs to be very very worried. (That was how the topic started right?).
USA is a capitalist country. Do i need to say more? U simply think US can just go into war without thinking of ecomomic senses???
General will not be thinking of wal mart but US president will think more than general. Isn’t this thread from korea war simply turn into China just a cheap labour country that its ecomomic supply line to US can be easily switch overnite to another country in case of war??? 😉
Are u dreaming?
What the US and Europe cannot overcome is the shortage of Chinese capital buying up their debt.
China is not a big supplier of furniture by the way. But things like ships and PCs are. A Chinese company is Intel’s third largest customer in the world.
Cheap labor is not the factor, today there are many countries with cheaper labor than China and yet these countries still face factory closures as more and more multinationals move their operations to China. The thing that you don’t seem to realize that China’s supply cycle is so complete, that to make any given high tech product, 80 to 90 percent of the components can be sourced in country without shipping them in, incurring freight costs and taxes, allowing them to be produced without delays and allowing for just in time inventories.
Absolutely correct! Those fool think cheap supply can be built over nite if a war between China and USA happens. Tell that to Wal-mart President, that supply from China can be easily build over nite if war happens. I can gurantee he will shoot u back ‘Are u mad?’ 😀
Yes, and ants generally get crushed.
I would be surprised if you seriously expect Iran to attack the USN. Short of a nuclear strike, only a massive, sophisticated conventional attack by aircraft and/or naval units would stand a chance of damaging as US carrier battle group, with its naval air wing, missile and anti aircraft defences and submarine screen.
The very notion that the Iranian military is capable of inflicting any significant harm on a US/Allied fleet in the Persian Gulf is, imho, ridiculous.
Why suggest Iran attack on sea where Iran navy among the three forces is the weakest?
With US forces rooted in Iraq, isn’t it most feasible to attack on land, isn’t it?
Iran and China already have plenty of common interests. With situation deteriorating in Taiwan strait chinese have to be careful. If Iran wanted to bribe someone in this way to get their support, Russia would be a more logical choice considering their increaing aggressiveness towards west and current political climate (especially missile shield) between US and Russia.
China maybe using Iran as a bargaining chips to force US stop sales of weapons to ROC Taiwan.
40 rafales will not hold up against 300 Su-30’s even if its only the MKK version. The J-10 will only help bolster the numbers that ROKAF will face. If things sour between the two expect US to intervene with F-22’s. I seriously doubts malaysia or indonesia’s capability to take on RSAF. 18 Su-30’s even if they are MKM cannot hold up agains nearly 200 F-16 blk 52’s supported by E-2’s. Indonesia has what 6 Su-30’s? Anyway if I understand right singapore has some sort of defense pact with both US and India.
Where the hell RSAF got 200 F-16?
In a scenario of SK war with China will most result in a small scale border or sea clash. Individual dogfight skill and plane performances are critical..
It is politics but F-15 is sufficient for the needs of Korea and Singapore till F-35 becomes available to them in a decade or less. Korea does not need F-15’s to take on NK and Singapore does not need F-15’s to deal with malaysia. Nobody else is really threatening them and anyway this is a follow on deal for the aircraft they already purchased. It would be dumb of them to go for 12 F-15’s and 12 Rafales anyway.
South Korean is wary of PRC despite good relation.
Singapore? Malaysia got Su-30MKM and not to forget Indonesia with Su-30MKK too.. They have a complicated r/s in that region!
SK and Singapore immediately need something like Rafale or Typhoon to deal with highly agile J-10 and Su-30/J-11B

South Korean F-15K deal may close by end 2007
By Siva GovindasamySouth Korea has begun price negotiations with Boeing over the purchase of 20 F-15K fighters, with industry sources saying that a deal is likely to be reached by the end of 2007.
Boeing emerged as the sole bidder in both rounds conducted by South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Programme Administration, the country’s arms procurements agency.
Seoul, which awarded a contract for 40 F-15Ks to Boeing in 2002, was keen for a contest in the 2.3 trillion won ($2.5 billion) K-X programme to dispel claims that it is biased towards US military hardware.
However, manufacturers such as the Eurofighter consortium and Dassault chose to stay away, with industry sources saying that they were wary of taking part in a competition that could be weighted against them.
The Dassault Rafale and Sukhoi Su-35 were offered in the 2002 competition, when the F-15K was chosen, even though the Rafale came out tops in the technical evaluation.
A contract for the new batch of 20 fighters is to be signed around February 2008 and deliveries are likely to take place in the 2010-12 timeframe.Industry sources say that South Korea could open a tender for another 20 fighters around 2010, although some speculate that Boeing could get a single-source contract as the service will be keen to have the same type of fighter.
South Korea is also keen to get access to the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter programme in the next decade. It is also contemplating the indigenous development of a stealth fighter through its KFX programme, and studying a proposal from Korea Aerospace Industries for the F/A-50 – a light combat version of the T-50 advanced jet trainer.
Sad to say people don’t appreciate good things and prefer outdated stuff becos of political reason… 🙁
F-15 is no way matching Rafale in terms of performance except range and payload.
