I’ve been bit out in the woods with these new revelations so correct me if I’m wrong but to my eyes the submarine in the backround doesen’t belong to the same class as the one in the front.
If you look closely to the one in the back you’ll notice that the Sail’s height compared to the level where the missilehump starts to go horizontally is different than in the firts one. Its much longer which means that either the sail is taller or that the missilehump is shorter in height. As the sail seems othervice similar to the one fitted in the boat that is in the leading role of this pic, I dare to state that the missilehump is shorter. This would mean that it carries a different type of missiles.
If I’ve missed something obvious concerning these new SSBN spottings (like that it should be different in the first place) please correct me.
I don’t think 094 is afford to carry another type of missiles?
Nice pic. Sharp and clear plus it clearly show 2 094 SSBN. Opening the missile hatch is a big bonus! 😀
What stealth features? The chin turret is exposed, the main rotor hub is exposed, the weapons are external, the tail rotor is not shrouded…need I continue?
This looks like it has the makings of a capable attack helo, but it is not on par (or evev close), in terms of LO, with the Comanche.
DO u think that is a nice looking chopper? 😉
Is PLA going to buy Mi-26???
Looks like the Chinese are joining the party. If Russian make it cheap enough for these 3 countries. There is a high chance, they will buy in bulk. And with cheap price tag,it will deter Chinese from RE and build their own…
We shall never doubt FC-1 is capable of firing BVR SD-12 missiles.
Even without video or without concrete support. It is clear FC-1 is design with the intention to do BVR with SD-12…
It shadn’t be too hard to believe FC-1 firing a SD-12!
I am wondering will the Z-11 sold to Argentina be armed version…
Can’t possibe be HJ-8,right?
Well how good it is?
During my army time, we used the finnish Rk62, wich is basicly a AK, with fancier stock and has its sigths little bit different position.
I always made over 90 point scores when firing 10 round captions and suprisingly many managed to reach these levels, wich are almoust competion shooting level. So the claims about accuracy are IMHO BS, if you cannot shoot something with AK, the proplem is not in the weapon, but in the shooter. During our training, the instructors told us that the weapon we were firing is the seccond most accurate in the world (Russian Ak-74 was the number one), so all complains about the weapon were to be treaded as excuses. And this wasent talk of some armschair generals, like us here in the internet, but words from ones that actually work with these things.
Also what comes to the ruggerness, during our long artillery fireposition camps, we rarely even bothered to remember that we carried the rifles and they usually just layed somewhere in the mud. As the camps were supposed to simulate combat situations, we always carried them loaded with blank ammunition. I never even heard a rumor that someone’s weapon would have jammed when suddenly a neighbouring battery made a little “visit” to our positions, and after one of the camps, while I finaly cleaned the weapon, I found a half of a pinecone inside my rifle…and I had shoot almoust full fire portion (90 rounds) with it.
I also heard that in my brother’s battery, some brainhead dropped his rifle before a army truck that drove across the rifle’s barrel. The guy got awfull lot of **** from the instructors and officers and were doomed to pay thousands of euroes to compensate the weapon. Still when they went back to the garrisons and to the firing range, the rifle made perfect score and no one could tell any changes to its accuracy. So how good AK-47 really is…well I wouldnt go to the war if i would know that they’re giving me something else
At 200m,AK-47 accuracy can still be consider good! Beyond that, better use a M-16! Comes to reliablility, nothing beats an AK-47..
That’s nonsense. I would trust the British press a lot more than either the Chinese or Russian ones. That doesn’t mean they don’t make mistakes, but to imply they’re somehow “especially unreliable” on China/Russia because critics live here is not logical. Making vague comments about “spy and dissidents” is childish.
If you want to say any newspaper report from anywhere should be taken with a pinch of salt, no problem.
What I find interesting is that the article implies China is still essentially laying claim to parts of the Russian Far East, despite the fact officially it recognised Russian control of it some years ago. I thought that China had given up its claims, but maybe it was an act – certainly some Chinese I have talked to don’t believe China honestly gave up its claims back then, or at the least a future Chinese government could still assert its rights over it.
Who is the some chinese? Some peasants???
I talk to some taiwanese. They thought ROC is going to land in mainland China in few years time and retook them back… 😀
It is unavoidable some Chinese cling onto the old territories of Qing dynasty.
What u can assure is since the forming of PRC,PRC totally respect international laws and once ink and that’s it. Other than that is yr foolish assumption from some peasants comment!
It is from Guradian and any thing written in British press about Russia or China u have to take with big grain of Salt. considering the spy and dissidents living. u have to read Lavrov paper for Russian policy for 21st century. Entire importance is given to Asia and Latin America.
Finally u are talking some sensible thing..
Good to see that u are so sane! 😀
Another thing to mention…. It did not indicate VLS of 054A frigate. I doubt Russia is the one who sells them. More of the indigenous product of PRC. If the author of that article indeed knows the real situation of Russia and China situation. He will have talk abt 054A frigate VLS. SInce no,I believe it is more of a make up from the author’s part regarding to his articles..
I don’t write it, I just post it.
I will agree with Turbinia however that for two formerly ‘fraternal Socialist brothers’, Russia and China sure have a strange relationship, up to and including shootihng at each other during the Cold War.
I have no doubt that the basis of the assertions, that China has ruthlessly copied systems well outside the scope of licence manufacturing, does take place.
The Chinese commercial system barely understands the concept of intellectual property, trademarks and copywrite, I doubt the countries military manufacturing sector is any better, and probably a great deal worse.
Unicorn
The report hardly reflect the situation between Russia and China. If military trade deal is so bad between them. Putin wouldn’t have personally ink the official export of RD-93 to China with permission of re-export to Pakistan recently..
In terms of military co-operation, Peace Mission 2007 wouldn’t have continue!
And to say China just need a few copies plus technical explantion, photo and manual to be able to completely copy the model are actually a praise and compliment of China technology superior. Seriously I doubt that is the case. External wise, the system indeed looks like Russian counterpart but definitely, large number of indigenous parts are input into the system and not a direct copies of Russian counter part.
The lafayette doesn’t really have much armament and is basically a patrol frigate in french navy. Stealth is ok but I would prefer if it had a good bite too. If lafayette can be enlarged a bit to around 4.5k ton standard displacement then probably IN would consider it.
Saudi one is a enlarged version… It all depends on customer needs.
It doesn’t prove anything but somebody did fork over the dough to have this made:
WOW.. The graphic is wonderful.
When you fire into waters that is used by anybody other than that reserved for exclusive PLAN use, then yes, public safty announcements will have to be issued.
PLA already stop firing missing test into international water already as US steps up their surveilance on PLA missile testing. Their test is already all going inlands..
