It could be a start of a policy shift in United States. Reduce expenditure on oversees bases and have a capability to strike anywhere on planet within couple of hours from within the United States boundaries. Something along those lines.

They could have learn from the Chinese and make ASBM. 😀

Yeah, but China just threw money at getting Varyag ready. It’s likely no one will ever know how much thanks to the lack of transparency.

Are you jealous with China being loaded?

How about you showing me your bank account for transparency?

What exactly is the propulsion system on China’s aircraft carrier? Is it gas turbine, oil-fired steam, diesel?

    I bet is diesel gas…

what does that mean? Its a big incident. but its not a battle lost, a disastrous withdrawal etc. Its one helicopter which has been lost with a lot of talented people on board.

My point is, i don’t see how this effects the campaign, and i don’t see why it is being reported in the context of the bigger picture. I absolutely don’t see why this is being linked to a planned effort to exact revenge for the death of bin laden.

However most of what we get from the BBC is more negative these days (its like thats their way of showing balance).

It has a psychlogical effect. Just like Tet offensive in Vietnam war. Despite Vietcong suffer heavy loss in that campaign. They won the psychology side. Public opinion swing. War is not only about I lost one and you lost ten so that means I won….

How can it be such a coincidence that most killed are involved in the OBL raid. Those killed include Afgan soldier onboard. It looks like well planned revenge mission.

I always believe Afgan soldiers can never be trusted….

Who say J-10 cannot be 100% indigenous? 😉

Were they now? The latest rumours say PAF will be getting J-10s with russian engines… We’ll see I suppose.

Probably its cheaper and with Chinese assurance. I see no problem using Al-31F. And Chinese has many years of experience overhauling these russian engine that will ensure many years of usage.

Surprised that this hasn’t made onto the news here:

    30.984072,121.339484

EM cat shore facility in Shanghai.

I thought its for some bullet train R&D facilities.

Rafale is a better jet than Typhoon. Its capable of carry out air superiority and at the same time deep air to ground strike mission unlike Typhoon. Well done French!

It’s a shame politic ruin any sales of it overseas.

You heretic! US fighters can’t be shot down. They allways crash due to this or that mechanical malfunction. Like all those choppers in A-stan. You should know that!

USAF fighter jet can only be down by malfunction or friendly fire and nothing else. :p

    lol so what?
the Indian Tejas has been displayed with Astra missiles, and the Typhoon has been displayed with all these fancy A2G weapons. It means nothing because they are not operationally integrated with their systems.

I’m sure there’s lots of pictures of the JF-17 being displayed with all sorts of weapons, but its not even integrated with the SD-10!!

of course this may change in the future… only IF some one pays enough money for it..
and quite frankly, the PAF have other aircraft that is good for A2G like their late model F-16s. and China.. well they don’t even want the JF-17 to begin with and already have alot of good strikers (JH-7, Su-30, etc) for the role. There is no urgency for them to spend money to further develop the JF-17’s A2G functions.

What is so difficult to wired c-802 into jf-17? C-802 missile is not some new tech and is already a mature ordnance. Jh-7 has fired it so many times. J-8II has fired SD-10 5 years ago and both are already mature system. If SK F-15SK is wired to fire harpoon. Is it so hard to believe? Yr so called meteor wired to typhoon is something new. Meteor is a new kind of ramjet BVRAAM. Of cos nobody will believe it is fired until demonstrated. We are talking abt mature system friend. It’s not some rocket science.

thats why I said LCA, and Typhoon, etc. you have other aircraft that are frequently displayed with weapons they would like to use.. and even some carrying it in the air. it doesn’t mean its fully operational and ready for export.
see meteor and Gripen. still some time to go even though a Gripen fired one.

do you have proof of the JF-17 firing a C-802?

u r wrong bro. U can’t use LCA benchmark for other countries.LCA delay for 10yrs that mean all other A/C is the same? KJL-7 already wired to fire SD 10. Its just that PAF delay buying SD-10. The deal just recently signed. For Chinese, what u see is what u get.
