Wow cheers, thanks for the great piece of information, btw an Indian friend of mine told me that Kaveri is good-to-go?

Regarding lease, is it possible, that a whole fleet could be leased? There are always loopholes in ‘legal’ stuff….sooner or later, Pakistan needs to get rid of RD-93. Earlier, the better. There is no looming threat of war, IAF’s major purchases will take alot of time to materialise and with the peace process going on smoothly I dont think anything is going to happen that will lead to war. So the only pressure is from the mirages that are getting older and colder.

Yes… WS-13 is going to come in soon.

I wish the bill is passed and sanctions are put on Pakistan. That infact is in the best interest of Pakistan. I dont understand why Pakistani Govt wants to spend so much on procuring arms from unreliable countries instead of investing the same in research and development with reliable countries like China. After Pressler’s amendment, this surely is going to give a good signal to Pakistan.

I think Pakisatn is heading that way.. But Orion is a good procument cost that area is the weakest of China military–Anti-Sub platform… Other than that, anything from China is fine!

I think the bg got psed or not is not important, most important is the plane is genuine and FC-1 is going to particiapte in the fly over..

What radar would that thing carry? The chinese version or the Italian one that PAF wanted.

I think is a Chinese radar. If italiian one,I strongly believe weapon integration will be a massive problem. We have seen PL-9 on FC-1 clearly showing existence of Chinese radar. WHile PAF one is quite sure, using the same one so that can accept SD-10.

Or the somalia warload give some advise to the insurgent. They have great experience in shooting down BLackhawk in 1993.

What I know, the tail of the chopper is most vulnerable part…..

I don think it is easy to down a apache on the engines part cos apache has heavily armour the engine area. A few 14.5mm rds wouldn’t hurt…

First two JF-17 wil be deliverd to PAF in March 10th. Here’s the second plane, airspeed head will be replaced by new gen extension tube. The two planes are gonna join Pakistani national parade in March 23d.

Then what abt the engine issue? I bet it is still RD-93. Or maybe the initial 15 PAF FC-1 will be the RD-93 as CHINA has not sign the end user clause for it. Subsequently will be WS-13 which I believe will be ready by then…

Well, let’s go back to see WS-10A powered J11B heavy fighter with PL-8 AAM.
The nozzle is the same as shown in the WS-10A ground test picture.

Very beautiful indeed. J-11B was tested on 2005 yr right? So now it shall be quite mature and on the way to mass produced liao….

    First,declassify of J-10,then ASAT test,later FC-1 induction with WS-13 and future PLAAF WZ-10. Hahahaha… I like the year of 2007 😉

But the WZ-10 looks a bit small, like the size of Italian Augusta

    From Huitong,

Official China Aviation News reported in Mid-Jan that a “New type of Turbofan engine” believed to be WS-13 mid-thrust Powerplant is ready for final endurance test, similar to WS-10A’s design certification in 2005.

The caption reads: The technicians from AVICI Liyang engine plant are in final check of a” new type turbofan engine” before test.

Guys, no worry of FC-1’s “heart disease” 😀

Yr 2007 seems to be the year of CHIna technology breakthru. Sad that it will once again disappoint those FC-1 hater :diablo:

    I suspect FC-1 Pt06 is using WS-13.
Cost this pt 06 has little publicity, hoping to keep a low profile and only fully sucess then they will announce its induction. 😀

IF they havent got end user certificate that late. it just show bad planning. and i doubt they have any engine to backup for the moment

SO they r blocking or not blocking? Will Russia made RD_93 goes into the initial fleet of FC-1 meant for PAF?

I think we will see the answer in march this year.:D

Let just ,close our eyes and pray for the success of FC-1 and 2 months later, all this doubt and confusion will end.

BTW,I also feel fishy abt FC-1 PT06 which came out of the blue from no where. Might be testing a new engine for FC-1…

No Russian engines for Sino-Pak JF-17 jets: officials

Moscow, Jan 22: Russia would not allow China to install Moscow-made RD-93 jet engines in the fighter aircraft it is manufacturing in a joint venture with Pakistan, officials said here.

The Thunder JF-17 fighter is a joint venture between Beijing and Islamabad and Moscow holds the key to its success by allowing China to install RD-93 engines, initially developed for the upgradation of MiG-29 fighters inherited by Berlin after German re-unification.

“We have an end-user license agreement (EULA) with China, which does not allow the transfer of these engines to Pakistan or any other country. We do not have any intention to change the EULA conditions,” a senior Russian Defence Ministry official said speaking on condition of anonymity.

Earlier, briefing the media ahead of Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov’s India visit beginning today, Chief of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry, Colonel-General Anatoly Mazurkevich said, “De jure China has no right to install RD-93 engines on the fighters to be delivered to Pakistan.” According to agreement, China’s Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation is to roll out 16 JF-17 Thunder fighters for Pakistan Air Force beginning from March this year.

China has been pressing Moscow to allow the deliveries of fighters with Russian engines to Pakistan.

However, Moscow seems to have finally decided to say no to Beijing, putting the Sino-Pak venture in jeopardy.
