PLA now has 706 ballistic missiles aimed at Taiwan. PLA is adding 120 ballistic missiles per year.
I heard China is interested in increasing number of precision strike cruise missiles against as they r more accurate than ballistic missiles. The production of YJ-83 and Hongniao series r good example.
It seems that China has rejected the the N-011M Bars radar and also the Su-27SM upgrade package. I think the Pero has also been rejected.
I think China is going with an indigenous upgrade package for the J-11. The J-11 upgrade package can also be used to upgrade China’s existing Flankers.
Will Su-27 be the next J-7? First start with a complete copy from russia and then evolve into a J-11B with indigenous radar(KJL radar series) and engines(WS-10A) just like the J-7E and finally be a China self made Su-27 multi-role fighter and bypassing russia license and export.

Febuary 2005 issue of Kanwa claim that PLAAF is copying F-16,according to the report PLAAF is not satisfy with the J-10,performances and cost.
they wanted much more simple light weight figther.
During the mid-90’s Pakistan loan single F-16 to China for technical evaluation, the aircraft give deep impression on pilot and engineers alike.
the picture show mock up in wind tunnel, show the Chinese clone copy has bigger wing than the F-16.
YES!!! What it says is half true! China is cloning a F-16 similar fighter and the plane is FC-1 which is light weight, simple and cheap. The other half not true is J-10 will still be continue with the PLAAF. 😀
IIRC, Chegdu stopped their work on F-7MF prototype evaluation (having done 20 or so flights) to concentrate their efforts on FC-1 after the latter performed quite well in its initial tests. Pakistani decision to go for chinese avionics for at least first 50 units may indeed turn out to be an attractive incentive for china as it leaves the engine to be the only main imported entity…an issue which hopefully can be resolved over time either with licenced production or a more powerful derivative of Kunlun series.
Too bad! Hope chengdu can consider continue this project! I like to see this birdy flying..
Anybody got latest news or development of this F-7MF?
Surprising chengdu produce FC-1 and now F-7MF,both budget aircraft but FC-1 will be more advance in aerodynamic with FBW.But I got a this feeling F-7MF if really materialise will be chosen PLAAF rather than FC-1 because everything will be indigenous while FC-1 still need to import foreign.Basically F-7MF is just a aerodynamic modification of J-7G with capable of higher payload, pylon, accomodate bigger radar.
Calender J-10
Nothing much on those fishbone arrays. Looks like UHF/VHF radar.
UHF/VHF radar nvr looks like that!
Y-8 radar testbed for J-11B (Type-1474?)
Now maybe we know why China suddenly not interested to buy Tu-22M3 bomber! Looks like they r testing the nose of the new bomber first! 😀
The Kh-22 and the Kh-15 isn’t for sale. It is against the MTCR treaty that Russia signed. No way Jose you can sell a missile with a range in excess of 300km.
Is it possible for Hongniao LACM to be use by H-6? I heard Hongniao LACM has excess of 300km and may reach 1000km.
It is the fourth FAC since we see the first one! Looks like ratio of every 4 months!

Great FC-1 photo!
Yes, the T-22M3 sounds reasonable, plus maybe some avionics upgrades and such as the Tu-22M5 is sopposed to be getting plus some Chinese weapons integrated.
But some strange things r happening! China is v keen to buy Tu-22M in the nineties but was rejected. Now Russian is willing to sell Tu-22M and by right,a quick deal shall be stuck soon as China has showed interest not long ago!
Still nothing is reported from the Chinese side and Russia even has to resolve to use their Tu-22M in the coming Russia-Sino defence exercise to arouse Chinese interest to buy Tu-22M.Is China come up with something on their own or is because of the Tu-22M qualities problem that block the deal as Russia intend only to sell some of their Tu-22M3 in stock and not new production as production for Tu-22M3 has ended?
the only thing i have heard is that in the late 80s, the PLAAF came very close to hammering a deal with BAe for china to licence produce Harriers. the deal fell apart after tiananmen, but the chinese no doubt recieved detailed technical data on the workings of the harrier before that, which may aid and/or influence any later indigenous attempts.
But VSTOL is not always favour because of limited abilities and payload especially fight a war far away from mainbase will be disadvantage. That’s why Russia Kiev not in favour of Russia navy and Kuznetsov is built! I doubt China continue on the project.
Those exercises are staged performances to show the strong points of the participating aircrafts. The Russians knows as much about the J-10 as the Chinese. 😉
U mean the engines? Does Russian knows abt J-10 KL J radar or PL-12? 😀
