Royal Brunei has a airforce but no fighter plane and bomber,just some helo,training aircraft and transport plane.

Admiral Kuznetsov AC!!! Carry awesome aircrafts(Su-33 Sea Flanker,Su-39,Kamov-28) plus even without the aircraft itself,it can easily survive on its own(S-300 air defense missile and Sandbox SSM)

another great accomplishment for taiwan’s indigenous industries, although some foreign help is obviously involved.

the addition of this weapon will no doubt cause the PLA great headaches, as currently no-one in the world has a water-tight way of successfully interception such weapons, whether they are targeted against ships or land based targets.

i suspect the PLA will put extra emphysis on their AWACS programme to try and counter the missiles. and this might also give the PLAN more reason to build more 2208 types stealthy FACs and use them in the strait instead of their heavy surface combatents.

2208 is currently mass produced and three r launch so far.Expect More r to come.

I think their missile is a modification of enlarged Harpoon fit with ramjet system.The range has outperform sunburn but how abt the speed(sunburn 2.8 mach)? 1.4 mach can also be called supersonic.

I highly doubt the Yuan will be exported to any one soon. If there are any SSKs to be exported ny China, it would be the mothballed Romeos (if anyone wants them.)

I heard Yuan class sub is mass produced in China.The PLAN must be satisfy with the design and system of Yuan.Don’t know whether Thai Navy will buy from China for Yuan class sub since Thai don’t have a single sub?

Regarding to the US hellfire sales to Taiwan.One of the parts in the quote

“In Afghanistan and Iraq, Hellfire not only proved to be superior against buildings, but was extremely effective against ships, light armour and urban targets.”

I think the light armour is refer to FAC.How can Abram,T-72 and Challenger MBT be consider light armour when Hellfire has no problem penetrating them…

Awesome man! I don’t know that is actually a S-300 model kit available.I myself also wanted to build one.How is the quality and detail of the kit.But from the scale of 1/72.I think it is quite expensive for of a price of 49.99.

By the way,what is the displacement of this 115 ship? I think is around 5000 tons to 6000 tons.

By the way, with regards to 115, and if people are going to be gravely disappointed that it may be equipped with HQ-7s and not some other fancy SAM system, I say be prepared for disappointment. It probably might be equipped with HQ-7 or a VLS based variation. PLAN appears to be satisfied with the latest version of the HQ-7 as a short range to point defense missile system and does not appear to be moving away from it. I can’t rule out the installation of a new naval KS-1A but we just have to wait till the destroyer “solidifies” its radar and armament layout.

Maybe HQ-7 has been consistently upgraded and range has greatly increase from present known info of 13km to something like 24km? Since PLA is always so secret abt its military info,who knows? 24km is a decent range for a ship air defence.Just like C-803 missile,which is predicted by US and foreign source as a 170km range missile but turn out to be a 255km range SSM.
