Im with you Mark (In a sense) working at an airport Ive seen many near misses, collisions bumps and scrapes, collapsing gears and its never reported in the news!
4x Flybe Q400s.
Starting in November the engineers are expecting 1 new Q400 a month to replace the E145s at BHX
Deano
Regarding planes based at BHX, when BAcon was taken over the official numbers we got was 4 Dashs, 1 E195 & 5 E145s
I dont know if those still stand as there’s usualy around 20 a/c nightstopping, Ill remember to ask one of the engineers when im next on.
Congrats mate, I left a management job just over a year ago, now work For Swissport/Flybe at BHX and luv it 😀 (unless my turnaround is going completely **** up lol)
Started off throwing bags, then doing headsets, pushback trained (broke my 1st tow bar the other day:eek: ) and now a team leader, which for Flybe means your pretty much a despatcher.
Doing my Rt course soon so i can tow. There gonna let me tootle around with a plane hooked on the back! cant promise I wont take it home lol
Have fun
Congrats there fella, may end up despatching you at BHX then. Very jelous, what did you do before hand work wise?
Jason:)
Not suprised, can only imagine easy jets operation at Bhx growing as the airport’s been keen to lose BAcon and get them in for some time! so the rumours go on the ramp 😉
Another 145 was being washed last sat night and has since had its B.A markings stripped
Regarding the Flybe takeover of BA Connect at Bhx, Ive been told its from the 1st january and they are moving there entire operation to terminal 2?, will flybe continue to operate the existing BA aircraft, If so will they get a repaint into flybe colours, or will they get rid and just intergrate the BA routes into there existing ones.
So wed 13th 1400. Nice one im on shift at 1300 so ill have a good mooch.
FANTASTIC! hope it all goes ahead, what a sight 🙂
Are Flybe using the Emb195s to replace all of there Bae146s ?
Im sure ive seen KLM operating a 1-11 out of birmingham ??
Couldnt make it so looking forward to all these pics 🙂
Surely that’s a good thing jasop. Must have been a nightmare for the ground staff at BHX today
Yep seems your right, was back in fri morning and still suffering the knock on effects.
Talking to the lads n lasses they had a very hard time, lots of offloaded angry passengers (one swearing and demanding to know why there wasnt a second runway  ) and were doing turn arounds all night
