Isn’t there any news on that Halifax ( and P47) in that German lake? Thought that some action could be expected this “summer”. BW Roger

    Hi Mark,

You’re lucky. The September number arrived only 8 days ago here. The Dutch or UK post is/are doing wonders. Hope this will trigger some kind of reaction. I understood a German museum was interested, but that was months ago.

They’ll be telling you next that there is a complete Dornier Do215 intact on the sandbanks off the Dutch coast.

    Dream on.

    Mark

Don’t have to dream Mark, it is there, and unfortunatly, will stay there (although the seals have no problem living with or without the Dornier).

    Hi Cees,

Yes, it was a nice day. Haven’t laughed so much in years. Here are some pics of your mini cruise and the two dives.

For years I have a (pre) WW1 prop parked at my ceiling. If I see the prices, it might be selling time. BW Roger

Didn’t the turret and wingtip belong to the Stirling of which one of the crewmembers, the navigator I thought, later wrote the book “The wooden horse”! Can remember seeing the movie many years ago. BW Roger

Although 2 Harvards were converted into D21’s, they never were used in this movie. However they were used in a (TV)movie on the …. ? anniversary of the Dutch AF. Most of the (non aviation) scenes of the student times (in Leiden) were shot within 300 meters of my home. BW Roger

It’s too late for that Cees. My uncle passed away , and without him, I do not know the location. But it is in N wijk, not K wijk. Did you visit “the lake” while you were “over de grens”
