Thanks! This afternoon I photographed the wreckage of Geigers 110, including the tailfin of his 110 with a lot of killmarks (almost all with a RAF roundel). It arrived at the ARG museum in Heemskerk some weeks ago. Got me interested in the subject.

    You mean this one Cees?

Was also surprised to find it (on wednesday), but I thought you already knew it had moved to FV! It crashed near Denekamp after being hit by FLAK on April 1 , 1945. Must have been an Eindhoven based example.

Make a nice acquisition for someone like the Aviodome.

Only if it is an ex KLM or MAC one (is it?), and even then it will be a (too) costly deal. So the scrapyard is most probably its final destination. BW Roger

It was in The Times (but I am not sure which “Times”, thought it was from South Africa), December 3rd 2005. However, Greece wasn’t named in the article, but the aircraft in the Italian Lake was.

I was lucky to visit this museum last year. One of the best museums I’ve ever visited. I enjoyed looking at your pics lince and they brought back some nice memories. 🙂

As I noticed that hangar 5 is open now, it won’t be that long before we are going there again. Hoping to start from Brussels this time. BW Roger

    “Aire 06”

Big airshow, with most of the action taking place over the local beaches!

Around 800 mtrs from the coastline with the sun right in the publics faces! So I’ll pass on this one.

I never understood/understand why in the case of the dual Spits no one seems to bother that severall of these, including the one described here, are fitted with a complete wrong canopy. Might look for many better than the original I guess, but it is not original. Dual Spits weren’t made like this, and never looked like this. BW Roger

Don’t know what to say. That’s realy bad news. I never met him, but we had some intense contact by email / private messages about the restoration of a Ramsones tractor that was standing in the museum I was involved in at the time. BW Roger

What’s wrong with the euro Cees, don’t you listen to mr Zalm who told us so many times that the euro has kept the prices low, and nothing has been getting more expensive due to the new money? BW Roger

I was there, but as I was/am not interested in formatian teams, I left at the beginning of their display (it was the end of the show) in the hope to leave the base before the traffic jams started. As we walked out, some 300 meters or so behind us the collision took place. BW Roger
