    Jochen that converted Islander is indeed a good looking one. This conversion, which is a very difficult one as all original Islander parts are removed/replaced is better known as the “Rockwell 690B Turbo Commander” :diablo: :diablo: :diablo:

    Always have eye contact with the horizon works for me. I often get airsick while taking air to air pics,(flying backwards while looking through a lens isn’t realy very helpfull when sick) and when it starts to get worse I concentrate on the horizon and it helps (so far). BW Roger

    As this is in Holland it is not usual that the trees are without leaves in May. However in early April this is normal, so my guess the pic was shot earlier than May, so the April date might be right. BW Roger

    Well Cees, VV isn’t closed yet, so if you have the 2nd in high res for me (by monday)! Was At Valkenburg this afternoon and they had the large FireFly wreckpart of the tail on show. Took me a lot of years untill I was able to make the pics. BW Roger

    KLM DC-9 PH-DNL on Oct 19, 1972, AMS to MAL. We had an aborted take off due to an engine problem, made it back to the gates and departed 1 1/2 hrs later after repairs. BW Roger

    Yes, it is long out of production and is/was based on the Caribou. Not much of them are around anymore and in Europe they are an extreme rarity today.
