    Very early SS one, in apple green camo. Note the weathering and patina. This is the best way to detect a fraud. If it looks like new, it is new in most of the cases. A real helmet with a life behind it like this one can not be frauded .

    More More, well if thats what you want, here are some more.

    Wehrmacht, single decal, 3 tone camouflage. Bought this one for 5 pound a few years ago in Hungary.

    Those helmets are indeed looking as if they were made/resprayed yesterday. A resprayed helmet, added with some 15 P plastic “Airfix like” decals aren’t worth anything more than maybe 40- P.St.

    I have some 50 German Helmets (aswell as some 80 from other countries) and even when they look almost “like new”. they have a 60 year patina in/on the paint and decals.

    Today, I guess 95% of the German helmets offered for sale WITH decals are fake!

    Going to post some of my collection, and you can clearly see the difference. BW Roger (Helmet collector since 1973)
