@ Flood
Thanks for your long answer. I shot the machine at the Stampe & Vertongen Museum in Antwerp. (If you search for Stampe, it will get you there). On their site, they gave a long story, with pics, of the V-1, but not a word on this one. I have no details on the manned V-1 at Wilrijk (it might be this one). The museum in Brussels has one hanging from the ceiling (for sure a replica) , and one on PV, which looks very authentic to me.
In Holland we have a manned version in the Army museum in Delft, but they put it on store recently. Before that they hung it under a stair so you could see anything of it, but couldn’t photograph it. BW Roger
Yes, IS is a big help. Bought it last year (for half the price of somebody who had depts (don’t go to the casino’s) and needed money. I had broken my elbow (took the f****** docters 5 months to find this out, and then it was to late and all the bones/muscle connections are a mess now) and I needed an IS lens to continue photographing as my normel gear was too heavy and had dropped out of my hands several times. Now things are better but especially on digital the lens works so great that I now take almost all the pics with it. BW Roger
@Philo
Yeah, all digital.Kodak KDC-520C (Eos-1N) camera with 100-400L lens which is something like 160 -650 on this camera due to the 1.66 enlargement factor of the digital camera . BW Roger
100-400L is a great lens. Used it all the time today. F-18 at Twenthe today. 400 mm (which due to the 1.6 enlargement of my digi is something of a 700 or so.
I guess he is showing more than his finger! Here is another one
Aquilla flypast at minimum distance between the aircraft, never seen it so close
Fokker 50 & Fokker 60 out of a RNAF Alouette III helicopter
T-33
Sabre
Heavy helicopters
Harvard formation
Beechcraft-18
When I compare the 2 pics, the Antwerp example looks like a manned version to me! BW Roger
Thanks for the info everybody, sounds prommising. The event isn’t, like last year, a joining of both a FlyPast and Today’s Pilot fly in, so maybe things aren’t that massive. Never been to North Weald, but are the two DC-4s near the fly-in compound, nd is the CASA 2.111 still around? Bw Roger
The grip is called BGE-30, and it is normally sold with a second batterie, and a 1GB CF. I buy only the grip, and have obtained the CF card(s) from that firm Damien mentioned. It is also possible at another store he named to buy batterie packs at a much lower price that the original Canon ones.
I can not advise you on the lens, as I only have the 2.8 (expensive) ones. I also have a Canon 100-400L which is also expensive but is great. I always buy my lenses second hand now, so maybe that is an advise. Bw Roger
