See it from another point. Taking myself, I shot around 200 slide films a year, since I went digital in Januari, I have shot 12 rolls. Digital camera’s, at least the dslr’s are more expensive, but you get rid of the film costs, so today, given a camera life of some years, they are cheaper, and they give you much more control over the image than an analog camera. I wouldn’t invest in an analog camera anymore. Bw Roger

For sure it isn’t going to Seatle. I was told that it was still on site, just outside the airfield, while another source said it was within the airfield now. Last time I saw it was in 1991 when it still was in either Mont Joli, or Port Joli. Hope it can be safed, but I am afraid it will end up in flame one night, as so often has happened in recent years. “610” is at Marana Regional Airport , as Avra Valley is now called. I understood it is under a full reconstruction after all those years in open storage in New Mexico. Don’t know if it is for sale (still) or already sold. Asking price was astronomical I understood. 613 is not in flying condition but can be made so in a few weeks work. BW Roger

Maybe they phoned with the Dutch CAA. Thanks to those losers we don’t have any airshow left this year. All cancelled due to those CAA *****rs. BW Roger (who now travels abroad every weekend to see historic aircraft)

I understand it was at Stansted yesterday morning, so I’ll guess you might have seen it. The machine was later seen over AMS. BW Roger

I wouldn’t mind if one of the surviving Lancasters was rebuilded into a Manchester or a Lancastrian. BW Roger

When aircraft are on the ground, with not much speed, I use a monopod under my lens (as camera and lens is 6 kg or so). For take off and flying I just hold it in my hands. Shot at 400 iso , 1/1600 on F4 or 1/1000 on 5.6 I use a digital camera, which enlarges the lens by 1.66 , so my 300 F2.8 turns into a 500 mm. BW Roger

Sorry Andrew, I have no website with photo’s on it, nor are they on a.net. All I have is a house filled with over 100.000 slides, and no archive! So, I am happy I can find the shots of last month. That’s why I converted to digital in early January, in the hope I can store and archive those in a better way. BW Roger

    Steve,

We thought that a book on the Constellation would be popular, as the Aviod(r)ome was bringing one of those to Holland. My co writer, the publisher and myself took each risk of 33%. As there are so many colourphoto’s in the book, this was three times as expensive as an all B&W book. It turned out that we had to sell 1500 books to break even, all others are 100% profit. We sold those 1500 in less than a year, and we atre now thinking of a new version which will be updated with the Dutch Connie story. If you have an idea, I can bring you in contact with my publisher and I’ll guess he can give you details on price per copy or so. Depend on how big it is. My book is 150 pages, 200+ photo’s in B&W and colour, and a glossy cover. Let me know if you want more, but maybe it is better if you contact me by private message then. BW Roger

If you want some more, let me know. It is true what I said on Flypast, I took some 3 rolls of slide and some 100 digitals yesterday. Thought this was my only chance to get shots of a “22” and the weather was horrible, so I didn’t take chanches. BW Roger
