Purchase them and maintain them with a view to operation when monetary status changes…. i’m sure there would be plenty of people who would volunteer/donate…. eliminating the hierachy of VTTS should pay for a years operation alone!

Why should the airforce? You could argue that all ex military aircraft need preservation by a military source. Which would cost millions.

BBMF aside, the airforce will never have the money. Especially with the current situation. Id rather my tax went on their main aim which is defence, aid etc.

You say plenty of people to donate, well the vulcan just about gets enough! And thats always pushing it.

I caught this on BBC R4 this morning, there was a great story of the particular pilot being questioned of him falling out of his aircraft, as usual with most bbc radio the story got cut short so we never knew what the outcome was.

Seems like there pushed for inside space there as there are a number of items that need to be indoors.

A question for those who have used the shuttle bus to the station at Cambridge.

Could anyone who has left immediately after the final display give me an idea of the kind of time to expect getting back to the station.

Horrendous queues, an hour, two hours?

    best wishes

    Steve

Last year they gave the bus priority (or near enough) on exiting. You do have to wait a while to board the bus as everyone does tend to leave at the same time, i must have waited no more than 15mins, then once you are on you get out straight away.

    The Storch cruises at 65kts.

It will go a little faster but the fuel burn increases massively for little gain.

Its a mad contraption for sure, but huge fun.

    Many thanks!

It sure is, tho i guess it serves its purpose very well.
I was going to say, going any real distance could become a pain at that speed, but thinking about it just sitting back and watching everything go by surely isnt a bad thing?
