Green DC3 very very low, no more than 500 feet over north east harlow, in stansted CTA heading for north weald. Just managed to catch it, ive seen higher at airshows, tho it was a quick glance

Is it for this weekends do? Which one could it have been?

I agree with some on here, we all talk about the beauty of these machines and i think this exhibition highlights this to the general public. I feel it puts aircraft, that, lets face it are designed for one purpose, war in a different light. People can appreciate them in a different form.

You could see it as a twist on “air museum” style exhibition and why shouldn’t aircraft be art, they are an art form in themselves.

I find it exciting the thought of being nose to nose with a harrier, which is a similar to adrain searles “expert view” in the guardian and i quote: “I couldn’t resist lying underneath, nose-to-nose, sensing the weight and mass and power of it above me, like a still pendulum”

I think this is something I will visit, but as they say each to there own and you can draw your own conclusions.

Sorry shouldn’t have quoted you Yak 11, its gonna be a great line up though, well worth the tube trip. I did a dummy run yesterday and it seemed easy. Although I couldn’t find any great viewing areas around the field in prep for arrivals.

Well if they are using 02, you can either wait by the pink hanger/threshold of the runway which gives good shots, or where runway 31/13 is if at all possible (i know on a saturday market its a good place to go) however it might be active. Now the 20 end i know of a field but thats out of the airfield perimeter.

    Hopefuly this helps alittle bit

I remember going to the Fighter Meet on the tube all the way to North Weald!

    Septic.

Aha yes! At liv street the sign still stays north weald (or it did till recently)
Sadly the line stops at epping, there are busses that go through north weald village so it will only be a short walk however you will have to walk around the airfield, but im sure someone will offer you a lift.

Just the other day i ended up in a 1920’s side car which was my first motor boke experience which saved me 1/2 the journey 🙂

    13:16 (this lunch)

Had a prentice in RAF markings fly overhead, now normal you may say but i am in stansted airspace and allthough im 5miles from north weald, no aircraft are allowed over here.
Did anyone here anything over the radio?

The aircraft was flying north to south right over churchgate street (HARLOW)

Very odd and very low, around 1000-1500

Lucky i had the camera, sadly it was in the bag and i had the wrong lens but i did get a shot of it departing the area
    thanks
