What about the cost of insurance?
remeber the probs Saslly B had at the beggning of the year due to crazy EU laws that put her into a daft weight category. result the insurance became unaffordable. How much is it gonna cost to insure XH558?
Have no fear all in project costings…..
Aint life grand???
😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
ps I like your handle.. do you?? fix them that is??
Flipflopman – Keeping it informative it’s certainly a noble goal . However to say it’s irelevant regarding her undercarriage might be true to the uninformed it’s still a fairly important part of most aircraft rebuilds . There has been so much chaff generated by various aspects of this project over the years that it will be a breath of fresh air to see something happen as predicted!
the fitted u/carriage is irelevant because..
a] it’s the old one and …
b] it will have to come off again when the true flight u/carriage arrives back from the OEM after it’s refurb.

After some lengthy (and heated) discussions in the original thread (http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=60964), it has been decided to lock the original thread, and start what one forum member proposed as a clean sheet discussion thread.
let’s just talk Vulcans!
Over to you!
Sanity returns….. lets just get her out of the hangar….. as a first step to flight…
SHE WILL RETURN……. SOON !!!!!!
🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Thanks Denis
The VTTS website shows Robert and Rusty under the Trustee link. But then thats the VTTS Web site for you!
….. Robert resigned when he became Project Director and Rusty never was a trustee…as to the rest I claim the 5th on that….
.
Personally I don’t think the majority on the VTS board have the guts to do it and would prefer to walk away on September 1st and go back to there day jobs, leaving just one trustee Dr Pleming out of work.
What a way to treat a guy who had a career as a director in Cisco systems, to quit the job for a Vulcan Project!
Vulcan903….. one little point of info.. Dr Robert is NOT a trustee, but an employee, so if this project goes down he will be out of a job like the rest of us.

This is a message for all you people who wish to see the VULCAN fly…… the rest please move on
The club has started a PLEDGE appeal…NO MONEY UP FRONT…. The Club will only ask for pledges to be honoured as & when the total exceeds the required total.

Denis, the club & the Team
aren’t the engineers paid by Marshalls………so even though the contract is terminated won’t they go back to working on hercules’……….therefore not out of work unless Marshalls contracted these guys in special
Hi Phil
Only the 6 or 7 technicians are paid by Marshalls, the other 16+ engineers are employed by the Vulcan to the Sky Trust and are therefore on redundancy notice
CM….I have asked you not to attack like this before, it doesn’t do a lot of good… If you want to change things, write to the trustees, not a web forum
And Bruce…… in his defence he wasn’t saying he talked to Dr Robert he was only passing on what is sitting on VTTS website forum, if you read all the post.
🙁 🙁
Agreed. Could be up there with the classics very soon.
A trip to Cosford on Saturday (see separate post for pictures) reminded me just how claustrophobic the Vulcamn cockpit was…William
Cosford’s cockpit is a MK1 if you want to see the inside of a MK2 we are taking XM602′ cockpit to Waddington and RIAT positioned next to Vulcan to the Sky Trailer with flight crews doing guided tours..
See you Cosford hangar 2 this Sunday
Denis
..
My aunt edited the book, so am looking to meeting up with her to get my signed copy
Hi Y’all
Come and see us on the Vulcan to the Sky Trailer outside Hangar 3 @ Waddington… Roland White will be there, Saturday to sign the book, and Barry Masefield, Martin Withers.. XM607.Blackbuck One command pilot… subject to operational limitations will be with us the whole weekend.
A number of VTST flight crew will be on hand to talk to you throughout the week-end
Also inside the hangar will be an engineering exhibition by VOC Engineering Staff.
So see you there…..
Denis
…
Denis – your thread was a direct response to questions asked about the amount of money required. Therefore it seems to most people to be a logical follow on in answer to some of the questions raised.
The hypothetical question of who will be flying the thing seems to me to be different in its nature to matters of fundraising.
David
I disagree my new thread was a direct plea for money, not a esoteric discussion on who was to fly ‘558…. thats a foregone conclusion….
Still think the two threads should have been kept seperate as mine was intended to try to answer some of the questions raised, instead it was buried in Pauls string???
D
..
Ah but my thread was how B**dly good Robert and David’s article was on the project. Shame its not repeated on the offical web site really. I still think a forun visit to see 558 and Denis would be a good idea.
I’m still up for forum visit to Bruntingthorpe any Sunday..but who’s going to organise it???
let me know will arrange hangar permits, but be aware I am away at Cosford, Waddington, RIAT & Wellesbourne…. after these I am pretty clear unless “she who must be obeyed” sticks her bloody oar in????
..
I am sorry Denis, but I cannot see the connection between your post and the question posed by Black Knight. Could you please explain.
Thank you
exmpa
Moggy’s excuse for merging mine and Pauls string was quote “pointless haveing two Vulcan strings running together”
So what is this one then???
As I remember Paul’s was about a Flypast article whereas mine was a plea for donations, no way were they linked???
..
Come on Moggy when are you going to merge this one?????
Or is this one “SPECIAL”
