Damien – I don’t think Dennis’s post is hidden in any way. There is nothing stopping Dennis posting a new thread if he wishes -Whether the cause deserves a special type of moderation I doubt – .

David

FYI…I did start a new string but, Moggy merged it with an existing one..thereby loosing it’s impact….. I would have thought that moderators should be impartial? and we all know Moggy’s view on our project.

I do not expect special treatment, I am no more special than you.

Please note the name is Denis not Dennis….and that is probably my last word on this forum.

I am getting more and more confused by the minute.

Is it Good news as stated in Flypast?

or…

Is it Bad news as alluded to by Denis?

If Dr Pleming, or Ms Irwin are reading this, would you please tell us in simple terms what is going on….

Without some simple and honest statements, I cannot see a single good reason why anyone should wish to donate money.

Bruce

I can now see why VTTST will not get embroiled in Forums…neither Robert or Felicity will read this string..unless I point it out.

It’s neither totally good nor totally bad news….. we have a reprieve of 3 months to raise the required matched funding and all I am trying to do is appeal to everybody, wether for or against the project, to protect the aircraft, as I said elsewhere I do not know the answers… this is just a personal appeal for help.

The choice is yours if you wish to help or not….

Dennis – Is there a good reason why Duxford would want two Vulcans?

Ask Duxford, for as I understand it(I may be wrong) it was their specific condition/request that after her new flying life finished, she was to be turned over to them as the best example of the breed.

Denis, thats a rather worrying statement, does that mean XH558 will be scrapped or something if money isnt forthcoming and its not moved to duxford?

Paul

Paul

I just don’t know, but with 13yrs of my life tied up in this aircraft, as far as I am concerned… the gloves are now off… we have to help Felicity all we can to raise the matched funding somehow, fair means or foul!!!!!

XH558…. 3 Months and Counting

OK people as I seem to have gained a little credibility on this forum….

You asked the questions…here is the latest accurate information…. It’s official….
£250,000-£350,000 gets her to the runway…..
£850,000- £1million is through flight testing……BUT!!!!

WE ONLY HAVE 3 MONTHS TO SAVE ‘558!!!

QUOTE….. from VTSClub Website..

We are well over half way down the road to flight, we have a major mile stone in August when we actually roll her out of the hangar, into the sunshine again for the first time in 7yrs..

As you will no doubt have seen recently the Vulcan to the Sky project has had a couple of unexpected reverses, which (having already raised £1.6 million) has led to us experiencing a cash flow shortage… as you will probably know, to draw down finance from the Lottery Grant we need to have sufficient capital to pay our 30% proportion of the bills… this is our problem…

The Vulcan to the Sky Club has come up with a scheme to go someway to help close that gap.. It’s called… “Buy ‘558 Time” …. we are asking for even more gift-aided donations in the format of 558…. 55.8p. £5.58, £55.80, £558.00 etc, if you feel you would like to help please download this form and return to the address at the bottom of the form….. we cannot fail so late in the day…. Please help us to…

“Buy That Time”

————————————————-

To obtain a “Buy That Time” donation form follow the attached link to the Vulcan to the Sky Club website, down load a form and send it to the address on the form….

http://www.vulcantotheskyclub.com/

This initiative has already raised in 3 weeks from 25% of club membership… £25,000plus, so come on forumites we are all aviation enthusiasts, even if you don’t support the project, give us a donation anyway….and, this is probably going to get me the sack…. so we can (God forbid) , worst case scenario, at least complete her for a single ferry flight to Duxford and safety… Also we will have fulfilled the main HLF grant requirements of preserving the best example of an aviation heritage asset in existence.

It could just buy Felicity the time she needs to find that elusive sponsor or sponsors….

Alan, if you do want to organise a trip to Bruntingthorpe for forum members I will be only to willing to sort things of behalf of the LPG, maybe tie the visit in with an antidet run of one of our two and a tour round the Q shed site as well? (I can have a 45 gallon donations ‘bucket’ ready) 😀 😀

What do you think Denis, TT, Plazz, Phil ?

Maybe some time in June as 904 will be wanting a little stir ?

Denis ,I raised the question /validity about the £ 50.00 charge for a viewing on another thread, but I must admit that I didn’t know anyone could look around for £5.00, I will have to see if I can arrange a visit .
Regards, Alan

Hi Alan

As I said earlier, VVAS £50.00 for 3 visits is now closed, (unless Felicity has other ideas, I do as I’m told) but I will gladly welcome anyone to the Hangar, but you only get ME…………. not one of the management team or pilot. Just gizzus a ring or e-mail

Why not get up a forum visit??? over 25 members I can do a group rate £2.00 per head as a donation but I do expect more from you lot if you want her to fly..just kidding. 😉 😉 😉

kind regards

Denis

I’m still a big supporter of this project. I have been ever since she arrived at Bruntingthorpe. I’ve clearly got something thing wrong in the previous messages, but still, I think it’s a shame to have charged us all £400,000!

Anyway, sorry for any offence caused!

This £400,000 has been confusing me….but a big bright light has just come on….. it includes the £125,000 for purchase of the airframe and spares….hangar rental for 18months = £278,000.(£15,000 per month)….. total £403,000..am I glad I got me head round that.. VTTSCM being delt with….

I hope this posting doe’s not cut accross the forum rules, if so will the moderator please delete or I will

VTTSCM

As Club Membership Secretary I wish to place on record that the club committee wishes to totally disassociate itself from the opinions expressed by club member VTTSCM.. and I seriously doubt whether the committee would wish to continue his membership should we know who he is.

We at VTS have a policy of not entering into Forum discussions because we have learned from bitter experience that no matter what we say it will be twisted and used against us. However I feel I can not let this scurrilous attack on my boss, Felicity Irwin to go undisputed.

Remember without the “Lady” this project would have been dead and buried years ago, along with the aircraft,

It was she, who galvanised a very dispirited team in two thousand and something,

Finally it was she who, with the help of the club and others raised the £1.6million to bring the project this far.

Next the Walton Family…As Philip Turland’s partner in crime TEXANTOMCAT, has so eloquently put it, they have been supremely supportive of Heritage Aviation over the years. I have personal knowledge of this commitment, as I was one of the original volunteers of British Aviation Heritage and was XH558s electrician for 7yrs. In fact I have a 14yr continuous association with the aircraft.

Now before you start asking me the questions already posed ref finance, on this forum, I just don’t know the answers, but I will ask the question and permission to disseminate.

Hangar access is my remit so anyone who wishes to see ‘558 please contact me 0116 2479932… or denisp@qbnt44.freeserve.co.uk
Entry is by donation of £5.00 per head which can be gift-aided as has been already stated.

I know there are people out there who don’t want us to succeed but we will…wait and see in August????

regards
Denis

One other little thing the £50.00 VIP(or VVAS) visits, which raised about £6,000 have now finished or will be in June.
