949 was the one fitted with the glass cockpit.
ZE706 the sole C2A should be next for the scrap pile.
Indeed 949 is now leaving Cambridge by the truck load.
Idle curiosity but does anyone know if the two Wessex 5 on South Georgia where recovered post war or are they in/on the Glacier still?
And the Argentine Puma??

Excellent Film!
I am not sure but it looks like it was filmed at West Raynham.
Yes i did noticed that description last night.
“On Wednesday 10 September, the Integrated Project Team comprising Airbus Military, EPI, Ratier-Figeac and Marshall Aerospace completed successful full power powerplant runs on the A400M TP400 Flight Test Bed during approximately 2 hours of ground runs at MA’s Cambridge facility, UK.”
from MA website.
Thanks for the help folks!
Maybe when my Chipax project gets to an advance stage i`ll have a shot at recreating the Mosquito Instrument panels.
Ben.
It would appear (thanks to google) that the fuel gauges and cockpit lamp are as fitted to Mosquito aircraft.
I can count Chipmunk out for the Engine Speed indicators, they use 6A/1299 items.
Not found a good pic of a Mosquito cockpit yet which shows the RPM gauges.
Regards,
Ben.

I will TRY to dig it out. I think it was 1968/9ish, but I can tell you that a Hastings that I know I had seen there in about 68 I later saw on the fire dump at Cambridge in a sad state – minus wings, I think? It was certainly minus the control yoke after my visit! :diablo:
A little of the RAF Colerne topic, but was the Cambridge Hastings TG510???
The engine bearers from the Hastings were still to be found along with the Cockpit section of Canberra WJ863 until a couple of years ago lurking in the long grass at the Cherry Hinton/Coldhams Lane end of the Airfield.
Any one got a pic of the Hastings while at Cambridge?
If being civil registered, would this not be the first C-130 to operate on the UK register?
I originally thought that C-130`s were never approved for civil ops on the UK register.
From the horses mouth…well nearly.
Just got this e-mail back from the 100th PA
Mr.*****, while here at Mildenhall Col. Murrie will continue to look at the possibility of bringing back the fete. There are many things to be concerned with including security but I want to ensure you understand in no way is planning ongoing. We are simply looking at options at this point. One of the reports was somewhat misleading as it read she’s actively planning an air show right now which simply is not true. The most accurate piece about her comments was written by John Goode of the Cambridge Evening News.
Thank you.
V/RCapt. Jamie Humphries Director, 100th Public Affairs,RAF Mildenhall
A quick google reveals that Colonel Eden J Murrie is indeed wing commander.:)
Martin Klukas 3rd Air Force command chief
Col Eden J Murrie 100th Air Refueling Wing commander
Command Chief Master Sgt Michael J Warner 100th ARW command chief
Col Michael Saville 100th Maintenance Group commander
Her Bio makes for a good read too.
