I think the 3rd door is basically an emergency exit – not used for boarding purposes. I quite like the livery, even if it is applied to a 321.

I always got the feeling that the MD11 was merely a partially updated version of the DC10, hurridly built in a last ditch attempt to strengthen brand loyalty to MDD among its loyal customers (Finnair, Swissair etc). At the time of its introduction, the A330, A340 and 777 were all under development and MDD knew that these machines would be light years ahead of the MD11 in virtually all respects. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to say that the MD11 was wholly significant of the state of MDD at that time and may even have partly been responsible for MDD’s eventual takeover by Boeing.

i heard that the first four services would be operated by an MD-82 aswell…

BHX online timetable states that this is correct.

Great news! First MAN now BHX. I’ve seen that AZ’s fares from BHX are great value, but was wondering whether it’s worth booking with them for next year given their current financial problems

I believe this is the case, but they are to continue operating the Cork route if i am not mistaken?

That’s correct. They are also code-sharing with Germanwings to CGN.
