Isn’t the second flight timed 2 hours behind the first? Personally I think the second flight should depart later (maybe very late evening from EWR and late afternoon/early evening from BHX) to have given more flexibility in departure times.
lovely! saw the arrival on teletext this morning!
Happy Birthday
I live in SE London / NW Kent and to be honest I think that the potential catchment area could be their biggest problem. The problem with MSE is that it has no decent rail connection to London (trains take over 2 hours) and much of the A2 is currently being resurfaced. Many London-based airport passengers don’t use their cars to get to the airport, either because they are accustomed to half-decent public transport between their home and the airport or simply because a fairly high proportion of Londoners don’t own cars.
MSE is also fairly far from London – from where I live it is 63 miles away. In comparison, LCY is about 7 miles, LGW is 34, STN is 45, and LHR (over the other side of London) is 29. I would consider using EU Jet if they’re cheap and if they offer well-timed services, or purely for the experience. I’m honestly not sure whether Kent and E Sussex alone could support such an ambitious airline if EU Jet fails to attract London passengers.
I remember in the mid-1990s Excalibur occasionally used A320s for charters to Florida (via Bangor) though I’m not sure if anyone uses the type at present
If it’s partially easyJet, does that mean the seats partially recline and the window blinds partially come down? 🙂
not sure – it’s a corporate pic so could possibly be a photoshop.
Some of their TriStars appear to be ex-Air Canada machines
When CO launched at MAN they used the 757, and BA used to use them from BHX and GLA to JFK/YYZ/BOS
I flew BA567 (Sunday evening flight) MXP-LHR on a 767. Outward flight BA574 was on an A319.
LHR isn’t good. T2 has a very low roof and T1 is overcrowded. Personally, I hate LGW South’s arrival hall – it’s one of the most depressing places on earth and must be a real letdown to people arriving in the UK for the first time.
I could be wrong but I seem to remember flying LHR to MAD with BA on a 767 once years ago.
BA use 767s on many European routes from LHR, certainly they did have used them on LHR-MAD and may still do. Anyone able to confirm? I flew MXP-LHR on a BA 767 only 5 weeks ago.
I remember a few years ago taking an Airtours 757 in place of the scheduled A320 (not very exciting), however, in 1994 we were due to fly on an AMM 320 from MAN-PMI. For some reason, all of AMM’s aircraft were not able to operate and their flights were subchartered to other carriers. There were 3 flights from MAN that morning – 2 to PMI and 1 to ALC. Our flight was replaced by an LEI 734 (zzzz…) however the other PMI flight and the ALC flight were combined and operated on a Corsair 747 which routed MAN-PMI-ALC-MAN. How I wished we were on the other PMI flight!!!
I’ve seen it happen on charter flights to and from Tenerife after a perfectly normal flight and landing. It’s like, ‘were you expecting us to crash or something?’. It seems like a bit of an insult to the crew’s professionalism!
I think many charter passengers do it when they arrive in their holiday destination to mark the fact that they are ‘officially on holiday’.
Lol!
Way cheaper. On the top of that IB is based at ORY .
All the flights to the UK are from CDG.
I was meaning for EAS-MAD-MAN or EAS-BCN-MAN flights.
