You could be even more adventurous and go in the other direction but with EK, and I think it is there A345 to Auckland as well.
You could get to Dubai from LHR or CDG.

Yes, EK to Auckland via DXB is either a 345 (stopover in SYD) or 773 (stopovers in SIN and BNE)

This site is good for determining an airline’s identity from its callsign:

In any case, on many short haul flights there often isn’t time to show a film so airlines simply won’t bother going to the expense of installing the necessary equipment. Even if an aircraft does have drop down screens, the best you can usually hope for is ‘Airshow’ information (e.g. altitude, speed, outside temp, flying time remaining etc) (BA A319/320) or some cartoon/comedy type thing (e.g. Malev 737NG).

BIQ > CDG > ICN > AKL flying with AF and KE would be a Skyteam option

The inside of the terminal is very yellow from what I recall (late-1990s). I also went there in 1989 before the new(ish) terminal opened. At that time, the airport was really basic and the check-in desks were outside, under a veranda 🙂

I learned today in Economics lesson that the cost of assets is spreaded on the estimated age the object is going to reach before it is going to be replaced. Does it also work in the airline business?

Yes, an aircraft will be depreciated in the airline’s or the lessor’s accounts in the same way as other assets. Most would have a special way of determining the fall in value of the aircraft over its useful life to reflect the fact that the greatest depreciation is when the aircraft is new.

BUT … it has only 2 (two) engines!

With money like that, I’m sure he could afford a few spares

Is it me or is there a vague association with the callsign JetSet here?
