    Which direction

As LNSE says it may be a Gulstream of one flavour or another, there was one going into Kidlington this morning at about 8am.

    You sure about the engines?

UTC is something nasty invented by the French. Its GMT and it will always be GMT.

He thinks that because we are prepared to debate with him and disagree on some things we think he’s a bad boy. Not true.

Pop along Billy, you’ll be more than welcome we are a friendly bunch.

    Septic

Methinks cornering may be an optional extra with that one.

It looks to me that a cover has been put over the cockpit of the S6b. Not sure though.

Leaving aside the fact the two priceless historic items were possibly “put at risk” (at the very least left out in the British attempt at a summer), the sculpture is stunning and Septic’s pictures leave me almost speechless. Stunning mate simply stunning

I await with interest whether this is the thin end of the wedge. I have to say they kept it very quiet beforehand though.

Still good news for the SHoA

Scattered showers is what weather.co.uk says.

whereas wunderground.com has sat as partly cloudy and Sunday as chance of rain.

Metcheck has been wildly out the last few times I have used it. I guess what this means is “we dont know”

    Fleas!! Bloddy lethal things.

As they only used to taxy the aircraft I believe they have put her into “long term storage”as they dont have the time and resources to keep her running at the moment.

Its probably (I hope) the highest a Flea has ever got above the ground.

Totally stunning. Please pass my compliments onto both the photographers and never let Jodie on board an aircraft again without a camera.

    Any more (please pretty please)

    Excellent points HP

In the case of your aircraft you have very firm views which you are now going to back up Legally, which is a very sensible way to do things.

However what about where there are no such Legal provisions (and the family of the deceased are against such a rebuild?)

We have two or three recent examples
Spitfire PV202 – now being rebuilt with the blessing of the families of the deceased
RNHF Firefly – will not be rebuilt because of the policy of the operator and indeed, a member of the family of one of the deceased has said on this forum that they would be against a rebuild.

It is a very emotive issue and I think Rolls Royce may have unwittingly found a different way around the problem, RM689 is being rebuilt (with the deceased family’s blessing I understand) but many years after the accident. Maybe there is a case for storing the wreckage until a decent time period has elapsed.

FWIW I think each case has to be judged on its own merits (a cop out I know) but if the views of the Pilot are know beforehand it will certainly make the decision easier. But just in case, lets not rush to scrap the wreckage.

If these were taken with the S5000 then they are a superb effort, congratulations (if not they are still excellent shots). Dont worry too much about getting used to Photoshop, there are many tutorials out there about how to get the most of it. In any case most “happy snapper” shops apply a degree of touch up to their prints, its just that with PS one can do it on an individual basis.

There is, as Damien said not much that can be done with a bad image to start with. In any case I’m fairly sure that 99.99% of images posted in the daily press or national magazines have had some sort of treatment in PS. Although I wouldnt go as far as Flypast did a few years ago and produce a whole article on how they changed an image.

Anyway can we see more please.

I used to regularly get a lift home from school with Ernie Wise. We lived in the same village and he and my dad both had boats and so were friends of sorts. Nice having a lift home in Rolls Royce. He was a really nice bloke.

Bumped (literally) into Mike Rutherford at the Phil Collins concert at Wembley last weekend, had a nice if quick chat.

One of my aviation heros of my late teens / early twenties is now a friend. That means more to me than any passing aquaintance.
