bread-less sausage sarnies
Two perfectly cooked Cumberland Sausages sliced in half lengthways and served between two medium rare cooked sirloin steaks?
Sounds lovely
Airgage
Add that to the drivel in the Legends thread about what should or shouldn’t be included, too many mustangs or spitfires or lets have a Zero/Two FW190 or whatever…..
My point is that their is a lot of good stuff on the forum but any thread that starts “when will “X” fly is a) pointless because even the restorers probably don’t know and b) leads to speculation and rumour that then gets accepted as fact at a later date, an example being the engine scenario for the Beaufighter!.
Well said that man!!
The show has now been cancelled over here. Before it went they did the leader of the Red Arrows a few years ago (John Rands?).
The thing I remember most about the Bader episode was that he escorted everyone to their seat. A true gent.
I seem to recall an early episode with Peter Townsend but I could be wrong.
Never said you did
have edited previous post to make more sense
Behave!
Sorry dad
But will it fly at Legends this year 😀 😀
I heard that OFMC were talking of a hunter display team as a replacement to the fighters
You read it in the Internet so it must be true .:D
Nothing was ever formally announced and in any case Breitlings began their sponsorship of the L39 team (team Apache as was) last year. Logical that it should follow on really.
I wonder if this license restriction will have implications for the Tigercat and the continuing restoration of the Beau….??
Pressumably it was also a factor in the alledged disposal of the Mossie….??
Question, why swap an aircraft….which you cant fly, for another aircraft….which you cant fly???????
My guess is that Mr Grey has more than the CAA to beat if he really wants to fly the Beau. There is more chance of his number one Son flying it than him. Old farther Time is ticking 😀
She will look gorgeous when she does fly though.
What are they scrapeing off it then?
Isnt it nice to see a Lightning dismantled properly and not just having its wings chopped off.
Heres that curious little aeroplane, I pressume someone will know what it is.
Lethal by the looks of things.
Looks liek its based on a Flying Flea.
Sort out the catering
Take the wingtips off the Spit
Make the sun shine
Other than that dont change a thing.
Ewan
Thanks for that, I fully realise the reason for miving the datum, I dont like it and I want it moved back. (I know it aint going to happen).
has anyone been to a Duxford display since it was moved, and been at the Eastern (M11 end) if so could they let us know if the aircraft still come round the Superhanger and what their opinion is of how it has changed. Might change my mind.
Assuming we keep in the spirit of things and stick to the propellor driven variety, the the Red Bull aircraft from Austria would be nice.
However moving away from planes, a big way to improve things would be to move the display centreline back to the Tower from the AAM, Legends will be my only Duxford display this year for that very reason.
Other than that I really cant find too much to complain about.
The biggest disappointment I have experienced over the past few years at Legends is that I havent been able to stay both days.
They can have exactly the same aircraft this year as last, and I’ll take wrongly coloured biplanes (they sounded great) or Allison engined Mustangs. Its bloody wonderful.
