Wellllllllll
We have chioosen a proven aircraft at a price which, whilst high, will secure many British Jobs. It is the aircraft most suited to our Air Forces needs (the crews will tell you different but they all think the grass is greener just ask anyone who trained on T28’s etc with the NATO School in the USA), it was procurred because it is the right aircraft for the RAF, the Country and the Economy.
You’re Damn straight its against European Law and you can shove that European Law right up the Danube.
No questions would have been asked if the Alphajet were procured in the same manner. But wait we couldnt do that because its out of production! Why? Because it was crap.

I take it a step ladder set up on my white high top Transit with a wind break pegged out around it to keep the crowds away from the BBQ is not the done thing them.:D
Sounds like fun
Well Mrs Fence and I are going on Sunday all being well.
I havent been there since I was 6 so can someone give me the lowdown on the place. I am used to getting to Duxford quite early to get a place on the crowdline, but somehow I dont feel that would be right in this case, there are rumours of a relaxed stepladder free garden party atmosphere…..shurely shome mishtake:D
Seriously a few tips would be appreciated, we do have the picnic hamper ready.
Thanks for clearing that up. I think I can guess why 😀
Great flying in any case
A mod on PPRuNe has posted that it was removed from there as the Copyright owner had (very nicely) asked for it to be removed as it was posted without permission.
Probably the same here, I’m just glad that I downloaded it first:)
I too mangle PCs to earn a crust. I have both PS7 and PSP7.
I initially preferred PSP but the more I use it, the more I like PS. PSP seems to be more for artistic use whereas PS is more for image “perfecting”.
PS isnt easy at first but do a google on it and there are plenty of sites that give basic how to use. And you can also play with it to see what it does.
2p spent:D
Dust is the payback from DSLRs for getting such good images. Its not a problem as such I just needs to be carefully monitored.
If you havent seen it yet I recommend you follow the sensor cleaning method Here
The first time certainly raises the Pucker factor, however once perfected you’ll soon be going at it using considerable elbow grease.
Doesn’t detract from the pictures though:D
A tentative yes from me, unless I can persuade Mrs Fence to come as well then may have to skip the evening part.
I will keep in touch.
Stevie
Nice pictures mate.
Glad to see I’m not the only one with dust on the sensor, break out the clone tool 😀 😀
If you think you can use a 800 pix low res image then fine by me. If yo want to publish it on either a website or magazine then please ask, its only polite and I may be able to supply a better image.
Not that anything I do is a patch on DB’s and is worth doing anything with.
Top pics Stevie
The BBC say that a spokesman for the airshow says that it will continue on Sunday.
I for one will go as planned to honour and pay respect to the crew.
I just caught the tail end of an interview with Skys Johnathan Samuels at Duxford. In in Skys defence he was very sensible and balanced about it all despite prompting from the guy in the studio to go down the sensationalist route.
He said that things like this are very rare and stressed the professionalism of all involved in the airshow industry. When asked why the flying continued he said that in these cases the show must go on as a tribute to those who were killed.
He also pointed out that it has been a very long time (50 years?) since a member of the general public had been killed at an airshow in the UK and this was due to the very strict regulations put in place by the CAA.
I was surprised at how sensible he came across.
Sky news say the aircraft was “stunt flying” 😡
If I ever get my hands on a Jouro!!!
A horific sight and there was no need to play it over and over again, if indeed at all. Disgraceful.
