According to the RNHF Firefly. I just dont know what to say 🙁
From sky news
A plane has crashed during an air show at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambridgeshire – Europe’s largest display of vintage war planes.
The aircraft, a vintage Royal Naval Firefly, had two people on board and air show officials described the crash as “extremely serious”.
“We are still in the stage of getting information and do not have any details,” a spokeswoman said.
The plane was said to have been carrying out a manoeuvre when it dropped out of the sky into a field.
It was understood to have just completed an aerobatic display and was returning to land.
Emergency services are at the scene.
There are 2 things one needs to take a great photo 1. Ability 2 the eye for it.
Now any fool can, with practise get and aircraft in mid frame and in focus (Lord knows if I can do it anyone can), but it is a special talent that has the eye for a good photo.
Take the Lanc, a simple enough photo but taken in the context of the City of Lincoln and you have something a bit special.
Great stuff Mr B. Game on for the next week at Legends and RIAT.

Doo eee speeek barkshire then?
Aunt Sally days are over due to a bad drinking injury, I can be caught most sunday nights in the George and Dragon in Sutton Courtenay undergoing intense rehab 😉
Old Hookey now theres some falling down juice.
Thanks for the update Ashley.
I really dont like the idea of stringing them up, but it is good news that the TSR2 is staying on the ground.
I take it they are still planning to cut the Shack up 😡 😡
The Mossie is little more than a shell at the moment, I always wondered why; now it all makes sense, without making any sense at all if you get my drift???!!!.
Do you have any idea what the plans for the F-86 are?
Ginger person
You are clearly from West Hanney. Do you follow the village tradition and have intimate relationships with Ferrets :p
Cheers for the Jag info, any idea of the Serial?
Guys Guys
As one who lives plumb inbetween Didcot and Abingdon I have to say I agree with you both:D (especially about the Beer)
I did near the beautiful sound of 4 Merlins in close formation over Oxford yesterday late morning, wonderful.
As an aside there was a Jag going through the Drayton / Abingdon gap at about 8.30 this morning. Good to see the LFA isnt just all abouut helicopters.
Oh and Willow, enough about trains, nasty horrible smelly things they are.
Nice one Roger, you really need the IS out at 400mm though. A few more from Kemble (who would guess I have learnt how to post multiple images 😀 )

D60 100-400L Just a test really

In all of the photos I have seen on the manned V-1 the cockpit was further forward roughly level with or slightly behind the wings.
Possibly an aerodynamic mod?
Mark
Frivalous question, but if you are restoring a FGA.78 cockpit, then surely the holes are already there??
Doh.. you may have put new metal in place, sorry
Ok control you have two choices we either take off or blow up, which do you want?
Or somethind like that. 😀
Totally agree with Damien, go for the grip it balances the camera out nicely, and remember you can only take picyures if you have power and these batteries arent sold on stalls at airshows like good old AA’a are.
With CF cards follow the Chicken and eggs rule, you may be able to get a whole airshow on a 1gb disk, but what if it goes wrong.
Most importantly enjoy!!!.
Just out of interest how much is FOD?
And on a more serious note, you you are a Policeman in the group are you a FOD Plod
I’ll get my coat 😀
All in all a very enjoyable day out.
I hace some rough and ready photos Here
Getting in was easy although parking was a bit of a free for all with cub scouts trying to organise things, but it could have been worse.
I wasnt happy whjen the Large scale models were wheeled out, but boy was I wrong!! The Victor was quite magnificent.
The Real flying was good too, especiallty the time filler from the Hunter and Gants before the Reds, I must admit that the Extra Display to start the show was disappointing, you have the most agile aerobatic aircraft on the planet, and you display it like a Hunter. Still I can see what they were trying to do, if you want to encourage people to use your business to get to know aerobatics, showing them 9G tailslides isnt the best way to do it. 😀
It was the first time I have seen the Vixen in the flesh since the repaint, one word …Stunning!!
Same time next year everyone??
Edied to say I dont think the Extra display was poor per se, just that it didnt use the aircrafts abilites, not quite the Matadors but then they weren’t trying to be.
Either day is good as if work screw up it will be the whole weekend.
My deepest commiserations to the future Mrs Damien 😀
