Catapult strops on a A6. Never heard of that before.
The A-6 shots arent from the Ark, they are on the JFK when the RN crossed decked over in a reciprocal arrangement.
Thanks chaps
The only other airworthy Glad is at Duxford with TFC. Have a look on their website for the aircraft history.

Logo anyone?

Peter Teichman came with his P40, still looking good in its movie colours

A new display was the Piper Cub duo, one of the aircraft was active on D-Day. An excellent display sneaking up behind the trees. An often forgotten D-Day aircraft

Someones happy!
‘Dave Evans flew in Maurice Hammond’s P51 “Janie”, delayed by the weather but here nonetheless. Dave then met up with Alistair Jay in Ferocious Frankie out of Duxford and put on a superb pairs display sadly cut short by the thunderstorm at the end. Quite simply brilliant.

For those of you stuck in the office on a Monday after the show, think yourselves lucky. The Engineers spent the day draining rainwater out of the aircraft and drying them off before cleaning them ready for the next show (which is on 19th June by the way). I want a new job!
The new Tucano colours whould look even better with some light on them. A very big thumbs up to the RAF for the colour scheme though.

Finale
I’m in there, just very small and hiding round the back of the car!
Thanks for the comments
An excellent Jungmann display

Then the World War 1 aircraft too to the skies

dagga dagga dagga!

somewhere over the Western Front!

A superb Sopwith Triplane display

Release the Edwardians! When the sun sets Shuttleworth comes alive

The Lysander in is natural environment
The Deperdussin hopped, If I can do that when I am that old I will be very happy

The Bleriot just about made it up, bless!

Thanks to Simon for the use of his car headlights (and brilliant idea)

Then, all that was left was to push everything away again

Next show is the D-Day show on June the 6th. See you there !
It is still at Old Warden. Its currently not being offered for any displays.
Martin
Its a bit like a Swan really. Looks slick on the surface but is chaos underneath :diablo:
The Swift Team glider was as impressive as ever
The main flying part was closed by the Lysander

Finally, all the aircraft had to be put back again. Someone has the right idea!
Finally, the Collections Super Cub G-SVAS introduced a new act. Something you may have seen if you live locally in the days leading up to the show. Banner towing!

All in all an excellent days flying, shame about the freezing wind.
The Banner says it all
See you there.
I believe she is also the owner of a very nice whippet.
Sadly the Whippet is no more 🙁
Tug for the day was the Collections Super Cub, in its new guise as G-SVAS. It will be pulling more than gliders this year (as you would have seen if you were a fan of the Shuttleworth Collection on Facebook)

Late on in the afternoon, Old Warden was treated to a practice display by Peter Teichman in Jumpin’ Jacques

Finally, I have a scoop, a surprise new addition to the display circuit
First display is May 2nd You know it makes sense!
The 1914 Truce started here

Which is just around the corner from Mud Corner cemetary. Which itself is overlooked by Prowse Point Cemetary.
All three are on the edge of Plugstreet Wood. We came upon the cross completely by chance while working our way back from Mud Corner to the main road. All our party stood in the drizzle in silence for a good few minutes. This was where history happened and this was a tangiable reminder of it.
Very humbling.
Probably not, there are better places to be as I learnt this year.
Flying Legends wishlist? To be paying my respects in some Foreign Field that is forever England!
