1. Since making the switch, how many more photographs do you take at airshows than if you were still using film???
It has increased by a factor of 10…..minimum!
2. Are the pictures you take any better than before???
Yes, but that has little to do with the camera itself and more to do with being able to review on the fly and change settings.
3. Do you ‘Adjust’ your images???
By this I mean adjust levels, brightness, contrast or sharpen them.
All digital images will need some form of adjustment, just like film prints will be tweaked by the developer. The difference is I have control over what happens.
4. Do you ‘Alter your pictures???
Changing the background, deleting obstacles and so on…
It all depends on what is in the way. In any case I am always working on a copy of the file and keep the original as it was taken.
5. What percentage of the pictures you take do you delete???
By the time I back them up onto DVD about 75% will have gone.
6. What is the best thing in your mind about using digital???
The ability to see what you have taken right after taking it and adjust your settings as required. I am no longer limited by how much film I have and I have yet to run our of storage on a days shooting.
