Sconner, please do not leave this forum your input is always interesting, if you remember when this raised its head a couple of months ago I said it was a fake ! but you have now made me realise why to me it looks fake as you point out about the lens being used which now makes sense. I watched this video quite a lot of times trying to work out how it was faked, a few people that watched it with me made the same comment ” how come the camera man does not move?, and you don’t get any prop wash” you have now explained why not.
I have also sat at the end of a runway on numerous occasions over the past 30 odd years and that clip just did not look right.

    Stay Mr C

The problem is some of the people producing these programmes cant tell the difference between a spitfire and a Lancaster !!! It can be annoying but to most of the viewing public it makes no differance anyway. just like the Door bell in the BoB film, we notice 99.9% do not and if you point it out they do not really care.
We advised on a War film a few years back and they were going to paint a jet fuselage to represent a German WWII fighter which I am so glad they decided not to do.

The problems we have these days is that the parents of these children do not see any problem in what their kids get upto, at our museum its not unusual to see children climbing on the military vehicles and guns in the parade ground and when approched and asked to please get down of someones pride and joy they comment that is not going to do any damage as its an old war truck !!!
We have had instance where one of the board members of here visits us on opendays with his willys jeep it attracts children and parents to sit in it without even askin the owner.

without doubt its the parents fault for not bringing to the childs attention that this could be someones property just like mum n dads car which I am sure if they caught you sitting in it out in the car park when they return to it and your answer is ” I was only looking, my dad had one of these last year” it would then be a 999 call to the boys in blue.
