Dear Dan
After a few problems over the last few days with us having to pull the web page on grant this is fantastic news We thank you so much for that picture and you hit the jackpot as thats the aircraft that Wng Cmd Grant was killed in we think and to which the memorial service on the 28th will be dedicated to.
Thank you from all at Thameside Aviation Museum
Colin Wingrave
Thanks for the reply Galdri, I guess thats the reason I cannot find any 65 mustangs on the net I realy hope someone will look in and have a nice new crisp one to post or email me We could really do with it before the Memorial service on the 28th.
Thanks again
Colin

Yes Peter she has flown, but not for many years and I do not think it would be good to try now as the old girl is 24 years old.
It took two people to fly here, one looked after the flying controlls and two engines, the other looked after the flaps at two outer engins i think.
we plan to suspend her in the reception area of the museum this will happen before christmas we hope and I will post more pictures of that at the time, we have one of the JU87s models from the BoB film in there now which will be re-painted and hung in our battle of britain display area along with the HE111 from the film.
colin.
12th scale Battle of Britain flight, lanc is dressed as S for Sugar its 24 years old built and flown by M Randle
We will be bringing along parts from three aircraft which took off from North Weald never to return untill sunday, including…
Cylinder heads from Flt Lt Dennis Parnalls Hurricane V6685 of 249,
armour plate from a 25sqdn Blenheim 16th November 1940,
Sgt Evetts Hurricane of 56 sqdn 24th April 39
Thank you Paul,
As we were sorting through the boxes yesterday we could see the parts were not form an excavation and must of been removed by someone as the aircraft was scraped.
We have now got down to one box of bits for display and a box which is up for disposal to who ever may want it.
Any further info would be apriciated.
have you called your wife yet ?
We got to the hare n hounds at 2.05pm, the young lady told us that food had finnished but if we went to the next village there is a pub that serves all day, I ask how far two miles ? oh no just the next village she replied.
as we were on the bike, put all the kit back on drove two miles back to main bedford road,,,, NO PUB,,,,, turned round back two miles to Hare n Hounds to be told oh you have to turn left under the bridge,,,, then left at next junction to get to the next vilage ie the black horse !..
Got to Black Horse at 2.35 to be told that food stopped at 2.30.
