Airbus Military C295 demonstrates release of Marte Mk2/S missile
This one is quite recent. Integration on C295 in July 2012, development of the Mk2 series itself seems to have started around 2003
By jove, such foresight!
Here is a press release from today from airbus military:
The Marte Mk2/S is already integrated on the AW-101 and the NFH (Naval NH90) helicopters in service with the Italian Navy and integration activities for the Marte ER on the Eurofighter Typhoon are currently underway.
Why would you bother to integrate ancient system like Harpoon?

I’m baffled. It seems that a Brazilian company was given the job of designing the rear fuselage several years ago… and designed it. How can a Swiss company be offered the job if it has already been done?
My understanding is that these are both (Switzerland and Brazil) still proposals at this stage, as neither country has firmed an order yet.
I don’t think there’s a market for it.
I think Yak-130 and T-50 are much more marketable and then due to cost more so than any capability.
I would add the M346 here, which has been selected by Singapore, UAE, Israel (despite enormous political pressure from South Korea) and Italy over the T-50.

According to this report April 2013, Switzerland would develop the rear fuselage for Gripen E.
I thought Akaer in Brazil had been selected to do that. From October 2012:
would
Aye, methinks therein lies the rub! The way I read these announcements is that they are always contingent on being selected, in this case either by Brazil or Switzerland. FIFO ?!
There’s also this from today:
http://www.defesaaereanaval.com.br/?p=17545
A AEL Sistemas S.A. foi escolhida para fornecer aviônicos ao Gripen NG, se este for escolhido pela Força Aérea Brasileira para o programa FX-2 (would again I believe)
But whether Gripen or new design, the Hornet replacement is likely to be SAAB also, nobody else being in the light fighter business.
How about this one?

Alenia/Aermacchi continue to produce their new M346 light fighter/trainer, albeit at a slow pace
It has even got two engines (compared to Gripen and T-50)
