These guys could be politicians with the bull they’re coming out with! I’d also advise checking up on the British Army’s Rules of Engagement in Northern Ireland, which would show them that squaddies did not operate with “impunity” and actually IIRC the ROE’s scared many soldiers into being overly cautious in regards to opening fire in self defense and this lead to a number of soldiers being killed as a result.
