On the matter of Malaysian SU-30 MKM is not as simple as their Mig 29 issue.
Malaysian MKM version basically is not the same with generic Su-30 that come from Russian supplier. They are using Western avionics, elecronics and sensors, from multiple vendors that create more complex spare parts chains.
It can be make sense to have different version from Generic ones if you build large fleet. However since Malaysian MKM only have 18 population, thus the costs and timelines on servicing those fleet getting bigger and longger.

This also make worse with Malaysian previous administration corruption, where the put unqualified company (that owned by well connected individuals with previous admin). Which being reported highly inflated the parts prices with longger delivery period.
