Indonesia selects Su-35 to meet air combat requirement

With this present administrations, anything can be change..even if one of senior minister already talked. Bit prematured articles. Nothing definite until a solid contract being made. That’s why Eurofighter, Lokheed, or SAAB still jockying their possition.

But AF chief already said before, any procurements the AF do prefered Flankers family or F-16 family due to logistics and commonality reason.

Indonesia and Hawk

Australia and SH-2G(A)

I hate to say this (since Hawk’s Indonesian deal did full of nepotism and coruption from Indonesisn side)..but regardless on that, Hawk do match Indonesian operational budget and need.

I think I have posted in this forum few times. What Indonesian buy will be depend on how good the supplier will provide shared worked and tech transfer to DI/IAe. Lookin on that Airbus Military with their long time co-work history with DI will be in benefit. The other thing is budget and commonality in operation logistics. 2sq of C-130H and perhaps up to 6 A-400M as replacement of the B’s seems what come out.

Russia, Indonesia begin talks on Sukhoi Su-35 deliveries

http://rbth.co.uk/news/2015/04/07/russia_indonesia_begin_talks_on_sukhoi_su-35_deliveries_45039.html

Related to this, this is the link to local website news (sorry in Indonesian). The link talk about interview with Indonesian AF Chief. Basically what he said (related to Su-35).
1. Contender to replace F-5 already come from Su-35, Rafale, Gripen, and Super Hornet. But the AF Prefered F-16 (Block 60 above) and Flankers Family.
2. This is due to AF infrastructure (soft and hard), experience, and skill already build around F-16 and Flankers.

USAF will be relied for Fighters with LM in F-22 and F-35, does LM will going to be the ‘rightfull’ owner of T-X contract with T-50 (which basically LM design) :very_drunk::D

Sorry can not help it..This talk about what T-X will be and what merit of each design has been talked over and over again…In the end it will be fight between T-50 and M-346…With what happen with F-35 procurement and lenghty development…no way for T-X USAF will go for a clean sheet and unproven design..Afterall They can not wait more than a decade for T-X to be fully integrated just like F-35…:dev2:

All this talk, is just one way to put KAI and LM warning…”Put you cost down”….Well what can I said..I’m bit bias on this…afterall if T-50 become T-X, it will put all other T-50 users on future cost maintenance reduction..:D

Possible, yes, but the cost would be prohibitive. The cost of R&D for the changes would have to be borne by Argentina, & it would make Gripen very expensive.

Agree on that, and I believe you, tonnyc and maurabagio already point out on the cost developing variance that can be sold to Argentina will be too much. As I also mentioned before, I don’t think Brazil as potential manufacturer will want to take the cost to do it, and if Argentina want to take the cost..it will be better for them to find something else.

That’s why, I don’t believethis talk on Gripen by Argentine government is serious in nature..more as image building domestically perhaps…They must be known the difficulty facing them on acquiring Gripen. For me, considering their stand and political situation on Falkland, any serious Argentine fighter procurement only can be seen when they already invited non western suplier. Because that’s when they are serious on procuring something real in prospect.

Can the planned Brazilian build Gripen NG be builded without UK’s IP and components ? Because if Argentine still hoping for that, ommiting UK’s IP and components seems the only answered. However whether this is possible or affordable is another questions. Seems omitting UK’s part can turned out to be redesigning Gripen to completely new variance. I’m highly doubted Brazil wanted to do that for simply creating variance that can be supplied to Argentina.

@ Buitreaux, I put Iranian Saqeah as potential candidate as example that the choices for Argentina has to be non western suppliers or any supplier that will not relied with western IP or components. That’s seems only indicating China and Russia. Well that will be remained, as long as Falkland remained on Argentina’s policy making.

The SAR team seems optimistic to find most of the wreckage, however the question on most of passengers bodies that remain. With what evidence on wreckage conditions so far, highly indicating the plane has crashed to the sea on high speed impact. Thus combing the sea bed floor is inevitable. The challenges now lies mostly on surface and underwater currents. Still plane wreckage hopefully will remained not far from their sea bed locations, the human bodies as organic materials remain in question how long will remained on the area considering the wreckage that supposedly holding them turned out falling appart and scattered much larger than first anticipated.

This can turned out much harder and longer tasked on recovery than first anticipated, when first floating wreckage and bodies spotted.

The photo from Detik online news.

First part of Air Asia QZ8501 has been able to be taken out from sea bed. No black box has been found in the tail. As you can see the tail wreckage really falling appart to pieces. The divers team still combing the sea bed trying to find black box.

The main body of the aircraft has not been located yet, but the sonar images already pointed out on location of the cockpit. The main body still priority since the SAR team still hoping majority of bodies still trapped there.

The idea of the F 5E / F could be good for Argentina, but the only viable source from F 5E / F to Argentina would be if its fighters would came from Iran.

Saeqeh any one ? 😀 After all like in Tango III thread, Iran claimed to begin mass produces Saeqeh

http://www.irna.ir/en/News/81455491/

Those as Iran claim have Phazotron radar, has BVR capabilities…and definitely non US-UK related…Will be very interesting to see Iran become major weapon supplier in Latin America…:dev2:
