What’s the next project?.
Great photo’s Brian, the colours are really good. It’s amazing to think that there are so many historically significant aircraft in that one gallery. Are any in original paint?.
As a spotty 17 year old, I used to go to Tranwell on a Sunday with loads of other bikers, to ‘tear up’ a strip of the airfield. Back then, I didn’t know it as an airfield, merely a piece of land to run up and down at warp factor 10 on my motorbike with like minded individuals.
In my sprinting days I got to ride on quite a few, Bovingdon,Weston Zoyland,Bitteswell,Radlett,East Kirkby,North Weald,Wisley,York,Poddington,Long Marston, spring to mind.
I remember W Zoyland had a huge dungheap at the top end with a gap in it, if the weather had been wet in the preceeding weeks used to get covered in ****e!. Blackbushe had a couple of JU 52’s parkedup there for years.
Ah, thats the bit, always brings a lump to the throat.
Wonder who gets the free ride this time!. 😀
Because Beardie is clever chap, max good publicity for self, minimum bucks spent.
It was an interesting snippet,at odds with my understanding that it was fairly complete and they were going to raise it. The programme showed that its fairly well gone and the museum is bringing parts up but have no plan to raise it.
Looks great.
Hows about some FW190 undercart
Seems reasonably priced, just wish I had the cash..

Lovely pics Brian.Don’t bother with RAW, more trouble than its worth most of the time.
Nice prog, didn’t notice R J Mitchell getting a namecheck though.
Seems if you are elderly hospitals can kill you, at least the truth has come out this time, unlike in my fathers case.
How many have you ever seen for sale?..this is as rare as hens teeth.
