On the topic of PC issues, every time I right-click and hit “save as” for a picture now, it always tries to save as an untitled bitmap. Anyone have any ideas what that’s all about?

Whilst looking at this, go to the top of the screen and click ‘tools’ then ‘internet options’ from the drop down menu. Delete all your cookies, temporary internet files and clear your history, you should find you are now back to normal. I posted a thread several months ago regarding this, opinion is that it seems to be a bug in IE/XP.

I tend to agree with Snapper & Grey Area to an extent.
I am running Norton Internet Security 2004 (AV & Firewall combined) at the moment but I will give it some serious thought when it comes to re-newal time however, the firewall does give you good “parental control” i.e. it stops the children dropping onto sites that you would rather they didn’t.
Zone Alarm is a first class free firewall and if you are on a high speed connection with a router make sure you update it’s firmware regularly, this will keep the routers internal firewall up to date.

I have the free AVG as well but keep it disabled in the start up menu in order that it does not conflict with the Norton AV. Sometimes AVG will find things that Norton misses (and vice versa) so between the two of them they pick up all the nasties.
I am just about to pop over to a mate of mine who is using Firefox as his browser and he reckons it’s great. If I like to look of it I will give it a go, from all the reports it seems to have far less security holes than Microsoft IE.
Anyone on here got any experience of it ??

Adaware 6 is now no longer updated so go onto their site and get the SE version (which is the one you used to have to pay for) it is far more thorough than version 6, run this alongside Spybot and you should pretty well have all the bases covered.

Can’t say that the web site is absolute ‘gospel’ but it has always seemed pretty accurate to me.

Beware office parties with a camera in attendance – you never know what will be caught on film – especially if two of your colleagues happen to be married…!

Particularly if it’s not to each other 😮 😀 😀

ahhh. right the whole thing is 106 mb and that seems to get lost along the way

It’s way over the mailbox limit for most isp’s, and over your AOL attachment limit Stewart, which from memory is about 10mb ( 15mb if mailing a fellow AOL member)

IIRC one of the first shooting incidents in the Battle of Britain was a squadron of Spuitfires attacking a squadron of Hurricanes. The difference being that we try to learn from our mistakes instead of repeating them ad nauseam.

Its a cracking series, at the end of the day it may not be totally accurate but if it gets the yoof of today interested then it must be a good thing.

Sept 9th 1939 ‘The Battle of Barking Creek’ ….yep… these things (still) happen.
Cracking series though, agreed regarding the minor footage probelms etc, but then it’s only “us”, as the enthusiasts that we are, that would notice these things. Shame though, you would have thought they would have tried to put it right in the editing, even my lad Joe (11) laughed at the 60 ton B17 🙁

If Lennon were still alive now he’d probably be really upset at how his ambition and desire had fallen by the wayside. I really feel that with the tearing down of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of his state into Glasnost, he would have cried tears a mile long, after the privations he went through to bring power to the serfs. All he was saying was to give peace a chance.

I don’t know if that would be the case Snapper,

If he were still with us I think he may have been leading from the front as it were. Imagine the extra political weight he could have put behind the original concept of Band Aid.
Not knocking Sir Bob and Midge’s efforts ( then or now ) and I think that Bono’s speech at the Labour Party Conference was, if not perhaps totally lucid, (Ok big fella, sue me,) was inspired.
He (Bono) is canny enough to be able to extract a payoff from Tony and Gordon (far bigger than T & G’s collective nodding and grinning) would suggest.
He has the ‘ear’ of the top flight of World leaders at the moment and I think he is sharp enough to be able to better things a little “I’ll scratch your back you…..get out your wallet!” whilst those at the top bask in a touch of reflected glory and plenty of photo-shoots that might appeal to the younger voter.

Perhaps if JL was still here he would be at the head, co-ordinating the whole thing.
Damn…. I have just realised that this would probably have made him a target as the first victim of assasination by the Globalistic economic community.
