It is a terrible shame which saddens all decent human beings but unfortunately it is symptomatic of the world we live in. The world that so many made the ultimate sacrifice for.
I would bring these mindless idiots to Colchester, stand them in the middle of the parade ground at Hyderabad Barracks, give them a megaphone and ask them to explain their actions to the assembled might of 2 & 3 Para, then quietly walk away and leave them to their fate.

Would appear to be bomb related as this picture of the bomb release mock up at Brooklands contains a similar looking device and there seems to be several of them attached to a piece of geodetic on the page on this link to a crash investigation web site.
