McDeci’s every time. See off your kite, wander down to burger bar on the line and place your order, sunbathe, eat and wander back just as said kite returns from dacm, having been given a good slap by the aggressors, local Starfighters, Luftwaffe F4’s, Bitburg Eagles etc. A stomach full of America’s best beef and a pair of disheartened aircrew off to see where it all went wrong… = Happy Lineys 😎
Oh and then off shift for the bus to “Caggy” and some serious beach action:very_drunk:
Congratulations to all the group and for all your achievements. I remember coming to one of the very early taxi runs at Bruntingthorpe. After a retraction demo on the pan by the hangar, we stood at the side of the runway (on it) earplugs in, and then ‘728 was fired up and once warmed up did a reheat run straight past us a few hundred yards along. Absolutely stunning! I take my hat off to you all for your dedication to achieve your aim. Long may it continue.

Nice to see the Dutch B25 doing its “Jeff Hawke” departure. Just like the old days…
Very nicely and the paint scheme is coming along…
I would put a smiley face, but the new ones on the “new improved” forum website are just cr*p so I won’t bother
Don’t think it was Signal Red, far too “tomato orange” to my memory. All the Gnats at Halton, when I was there in the 80’s, were a bit faded to the orange side of the colour that Signal Red goes after a while. It’s an interesting question though, as Post Office Red (aka Cherry Red/Bright Red) BS381c No538 is a bit on the pinkish side, if you know what I mean. I thought I’d got the Warpaint special on the Gnat, but it appears to be absent from my bookshelf. There’s copies available here though : http://www.guidelinepublications.co.uk/index.php?GOTO=127&PICFILE=127&STKNR=127&STRH=&ORDN=&RNZ=864653
The Horsemen in Spitfire’s!!!!
If they are using x2 Mk1a’s, it’ll be like watching formula one drivers racing in 1970’s electric milk floats…
Lovely light on the flying Buchon shots Duxman and really crisp too. 🙂
If you were a member of the “Radial Nine” support club you would be attending their ARC/HFL annual open day right now and be able to see one wing already in the new scheme and the newly delivered fuselage nearby, as well as progress on the second Mk1, the PRXI, the PRXIX, Blenheim Mk1, Lysander, Brown Beaver, AB910 etc etc.
Oh well.
No, very different to TD248 and very different to before.
Wait ’till you see her new colours…
Roobarb calling “Brown Beaver”…
come in “Brown Beaver”…:D
It’s a standard CCF spinner as fitted originally to the Canadian built Hurricane. Also used on Buchons when fitted with a Ham Standard 3 blade prop. Look at G-HURI as well.
From yesterday. Spot the difference 😉

Ah….
In the ‘artwork’ the pilot managed to get the gear up…
With regard to the dodgy childlike Flying legends artwork.
Thank goodness it’s not a real P40 busting the crowd line like that…
That would be scary
Duxford Saturday 20th April:
The display by Lee Proudfoot in the OFMC Spitfire MH434 was a show-stopper. One of the finest solo displays I’ve seen, and in wonderful sunshine. Too sunny in fact !!
I don’t have any good pics, so here’s twelve poor shots together. Sorry about poor stitching, but all hand-done on Windows without photoshop:
That’s some display team!!!! I think the guy at the back needs to close up a little though…:D
