What is it with people painting 2 seat spits spinners red? That’s 3/4 of them now
MJ627 had hers painted for Red Nose Day last month, but wind conditions on the day meant she couldn’t fly. I don’t know why she hasn’t changed back, but it does mean I can tell MJ627 and MJ772 apart when they fly over my workplace.
Looks like Pete Kynsey
Thank you for the kind words. You’re correct about shutter speed, I shot at 1/250 and 1/320, the air got a bit lumpy so I didn’t go any slower to try and keep the photos sharp.

….and your Spits for free
TE184 is a bit of a rare bird in the UK, she’s normally migrated to Europe for the summer by now!
Edit – She also has clipped wings this year
Now registered to Hawker Restorations. I wonder what their plans are for her?
The Ambassador has no nose:
I’ll bite……how does it smell?
Spitfire Mk I X4650 over Hildenborough, Kent, yesterday and today. Seems to be stationed at Biggin Hill at the moment, FR24 shows a sortie to Beachy Head this afternoon.
What looked like Spitfire XIV G-SPIT/MV268 over Hildenborough heading North-ish just after 5pm

All the way back on page 1 of this thread, post #11, Ferocious Frankie flew back in January 🙂
I’m lead to believe from TFC’s Facebook page that the engine change is temporary while the Centaurus is rebuilt.
‘Tis indeed, and TE184 to the left, with bits of MK912 scattered around.
It’s a very nice problem to have 😎
Fuselage at the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar, it’s in the queue to fly eventually.
