I think it looks fantastic personally :). To be honest I cannot bring myself to care how any aircraft is painted as long as they are kept flying.

And one of mine…

Lovely aircraft :).

If anybody wants to watch this report, it is on the BBC Look East Website in the bottom right hand corner:

The section on Ray’s funeral is about 18mins into the report.

I think that these programs were shown on BBC4 earlier this year. Then the third in the series was on the water speed record :).

Hi,
I have a Sigma 100-300 F4, and apart from it being fairly heavy its a great lens :). Pretty much all the shots that I have taken at airshows this year have been taken with this lens. My gallery is here :-

I also have the 1.4x TC, and I find it works very well provided I keep the shutter speed high enough. Adding the TC turns it into a 140-420 F5.6.

Thanks all, I have now put the car pictures up here:-

This one probably deserve a direct link due to its engine origins:-

Thanks :).
I have no idea who the pilots were, sorry! What was quite interresting was that they had Raymond Baxter doing the commentary on the aircraft. I think the other commentators had trouble trying to shut him up!

I have posted a load of pictures of the Aircraft from Saturday in the airshow forum.

Hi all,
The photos were taken at about 7pm yesterday. I have some taken earlier in the day, but I haved not had time to process them yet. I will try and get them & the other aircraft up this evening.

I use a Sigma 100-300 F4 HSM, which is a very nice and extremely sharp lens. If I require extra length then I add the Sigma 1.4x TC which also works very well. Having said that this setup is fairly expensive, and you are paying for the F4 @ 300mm.

You should be able to get the exif info from any freebe exif viewer such as this one:-

I think if I were you I would try and keep the shutter speed above 1/400 until you have got used to the combination of D70 & 80-400 vr. Are you sure that the VR is working ok?
Jonathan
Hi Phil,
I think you are going to need to give us some idea about what you mean by ‘poor’? Are they out of focus or noisy etc? Can you post some examples for us to look at?
