Edit: Can anybody see these 3 pics? My host seems to be having issues…

Here are a few…

How much radiation do these things give off? I spent a week in Los Alamos a couple of years ago, and had to wear several different types of dosimeter. I had one that I took with me, and it recorded massively more radiation during the flight out, that it did whilst actually in the lab, but I did not see any radiation warnings on the plane! :).

So who do I send the email to? I would love two tickets to such an event. I have sent a PM.
Thanks

The Merlin on Ebay went for £4000 recently.

Well I for one like the AAM, so there :).
Back to the subject in hand, it is the Imperial War Museum, not the Imperial Aircraft Museum, and as such they can put what ever exibits they like there. I quite enjoy the mix anyway. We are lucky to have such a fantastic place, so stop complaining! Sorry, but all this complaining really ******* me off.

Some people are mad IMHO . They are just machines, the owners can do with them as they see fit, it is entirly up to them. As I said earlier, if I had the money to operate warbird(s) I would probably paint it in some interesting scheme that had no historical significance what so ever, just to annoy the few people who take this sort of thing far too seriously.
What they look like does not matter at all. We should be happy that people are prepared to spend vast sums of money to keep these old aircraft flying. Somebody stated last year that the Red Bull Sea Vixen was sponsered to the tune of £120000 for 20 shows, and it still made a loss. I for one would far rather see aircraft like that fly, than sit in a museum, and who give a **** what coulr they are painted…
Jonathan
Who cares how it is painted. I could not care less, even if it was bright pink with orange spots.. :). As long as it is flying that is all that matters. I feel that some people take these things far to seriously. If somebody is prepared to put vast amounts of money into getting an aircraft back in the air, they can paint it any colour that they like as far as I am concerned.
To be honest, if I had the money to buy a Warbird of some sort I would probably paint it in some wacky scheme just to put a few peoples noses out of joint :).
Jonathan
Cheers all :),
To be honest I was trying to take a few shots that were a little different, and it looks like they meet with general approval :). Maybe I should put my ‘Friends of Duxford’ pass to good use and go and take a few more…
Jonathan
Thanks,
I had fun taking them 🙂

Great set of shots 🙂 I saw it in the flesh for the first time today, and it does look fantastic.

To be honest I could not care less what colours it is painted. At least it is bright and likely to catch kids interest which can only be a good thing. To me the design/engineering is far far more interesting than ifthe colour scheme is accurate & relevant.
I am with StormBird anyway. I want to see one fly not hung from the roof of a museum.
Jonathan
I guess the choice is between having them inside or out….
