Why in the world are the Egyptians buying two Mistrals they don’t need? Surely there are more urgent priorities in that blighted country than the need for off-shore power projection.

I think that’s a Su-30SM. The rudders have white tips. Makes sense if Russia’s first order of business is to defend their airbase. They will likely be followed by Frogfoots.

Any old-school types such as J-8s or Q-5s present?

No J-8 and Q-5, but there was a formation of H-6Ks and a H-6 tanker. Other old airframes include KJ-2000 and KJ-200 AWACS, with Y-8GX notibly absent. PLAAF bombers and tankers were really showing their age against the backdrop.

Surprised to see the J-15 and no J-10B. There should be many more of the latter in service. Possibly because the navy was eager to have something to show off. These parades are by nature an army and air force show.

Also nice to see the Z-10 make public debute. Must say I’ve never heard of DF-26 so that was a surprise.

Is it just me or does the landing gear on the PAK FA suggest that there are carrier ops in mind? It looks quite beefy to me.

More likely landing gear was designed with Su-34 type ground attack development in mind. Considering RuAF’s resource limitations, it would be a smart plan.

What if someone built a 1:4 scale replica of a fighter and put the guts of a MALD in it? That should be sufficiently confusing.

If the Texas sighting was a LRS-B demonstrator then it wont be supersonic, but a sonic cruiser is possible.

Greece has one Type 214 sub, plus three more scheduled for commission this year that they would probably be happy to let go of. Maybe the Baltic states would take them. I’m sure there are countries in Asia that would bid for them as well.
