I just feel uneasy with people feeling its hunky dory for the US President to be able to effectively order potentially anyone in the world to be assassinated at a whim without needing any legal justification or authority for doing so.
I wonder if you would be quite so relaxed if it was the Russians or Chinese who were going about raiding houses in foreign countries of people who they don’t like and issuing ‘take no prisoners’ orders and shooting unarmed people.
To which you replied:
I wonder what the People’s Republic of China would’ve done in this situation?
What China does with a militant leader taking shelter abroad is to let him live on for decades and transform into a quotable Nobel Prize winner.

Wow, this really is a surprise! I never expected the Sinoraptor to have EO-DAS. It never occured to me the electronics system would already be this developed this early in the test program. What the hell?
But the Varyag remains a STOBAR carrier, how can this thing operate from it?
More Sinoraptor

Looks likely to be a pimped out Blackhawk, or at least use lots of Blackhawk parts.

Yes, it seems from a special operations point of view, that it would be useful to have a ‘stealth’ chopper. The question is whether both Russia and China feel the need to spend on the development of such a type. I think both may well see the benefit to justify such a programme.
The US is unique in having a unit like the 160th SOAR and that it’s special forces are organized in a JSOC structure. Other countries don’t really have a dedicated special operations air arm.
Typically they would just hand pick a few pilots and train for special missions as required. They have nothing like the hi-tech gizmos 160th SOAR had a decade ago. It seems rather unlikely they’ll build a handful of stealthy helicopters just for special operations missions.
He wont be missed.

Personally I think a factor in favor of Rafale is if the Indians DON’T buy it the French may offer it to the Pakistanis. OTOH the Eurofighter consortium is unlikely to sell to Pakistan.
No, never ever … since never a Chinese fighter had a bay these are surely only faked lines made by Photoshop ! :diablo:
… some will claim.
Deino 😉
That birth certificate is fake I tell you… oh wrong forum.
All just possibilities and ‘what ifs’, but certainly worth keeping in the back of your mind.
It’s possible, but this is much more difficult than the FC-1 project. That aircraft the PLAAF was not particularly interested in it. It was salvaged from the Super 7 project and designed specifically for Pakistani needs. Pakistan has a tradition of salvaging orphaned Chinese programs like the Al-Khalid tank.
What you’re talking about would be a true joint service aircraft between PLANAF and PAF. But China doesn’t need Pakistan’s money and PLANAF would demand an uncompromised carrier fighter. Pakistan may be invited to participate and such an aircraft may suit Pakistan’s needs quite well, but that’s hardly PAF formulating it’s own requirements.
First of all China is only building one carrier. Maybe a couple more will eventually be built, but that doesn’t justify the expense of navalizing the J-10or J-20, neither of which seems designed with carrier ops in mind imo.
The Varyag was designed to operate Flankers, and Flankers are a proven quantify for carrier ops. China already operates and build Flankers. Seems a pretty straight forward choice.
