What about Concorde? used the Afterburners to break Mach 1 then ran dry to Mach 2 + a bit.

Nope, but as with all force multipliers it would be protected by fighters, just like Awacs and tankers.

They are intert, they’ve got blue bands around them. They are just painted differently so that cameras can pick up how they spin as they fall.

    quote
Consider the standard British drill instruction “by the left, quick march” shows a definite preference within the British military mind to tackling a subject from the left hand side.

This is because of how you take the dressings to keep in line, i.e. from the front rank. thereby if you turn left from being formed up in a dquad to march away you should be given the order “by the right”

which is exactly what happened when the harrier carshed during the seaside air display, instead of pulling the nozzles back the pilot pulled the throttle back, harrier got it’s own back after the pilot ejected, he landed on top of the aircraft and broke his ankle!

It is said that the machine is a tiny bit *lazier* and less agile than desired, but surely the EJ200 have much reserve in thrust increase, so this might be improved gradually with future engine blocks.

Where did you get this? I’ve spoken to the Cheif test pilot for the RAF and he says you have to throttle back on takeoff or pretend you’re flying a Lightning to make sure you don’t got through Mach1

thats not a prop on the front of the Me 163 tho, it’s a Ram Air Turbine, most aircraft have them, and the Me 163 didn’t break the sound barrier (officially).
