Indeed?…that could be also a good possibility, but how would the “hatches” open?…
I mean for allowing the optical sensors to “see”…
And why to use so much absurd installation requiring SIX sensors instead of the basic four?…
Pit so what about the jammer is it russian or swedish ?
No idea pal, there are a par of blisters on the nose pretty near of the ELS aerial, but don’t know what they’re!…
I also have problems with finding MAW-200 and LWS-200 installations (those are MAWS and LWR sensors)…
Martinez come on!!!, after looking houndreds of thousands of times Su-17/22, MiG-17/19/21/23 and so, and you tell me those installations looks ugly? :p 😉
Only with Su-35 the russians will introduce an advanced RGL INS based system, the LINS-2000 by RPKB (or one of those weird avionics makers, I don’t get yet the holding structure)…in fact, the R&D for getting the advanced rig-gyro-laser systems was made with cooperation of Sagem…
Even the Su-34 and Mi-28N uses INS-2000 INS system that uses traditional systems.
Off course both systems are supported by multiple channels NAVSTAR/GLONASS receivers of the A-737 series.
Martinez, why to use two instead of just one captive training unit (those R-73 training missiles whose name now I don’t remind)…is for some aerodynamic factor?…
I suppose those were ACT training sorties isn’t?
Didn’t you have anything like an ACMI pod for such sorties?, or the UZR-73 (is that the name?) made the same work?
I will not talk about individuals (and AF fighter-jocks are just that)…
Sorry, those things just are not for talking in open forums…
Yes Crobato, but that doesn’t replace the fact about the physical properties of the APG-70’s TWT, the antenna design and some other thingies…
Bear in mind that N-001 sub-assemblies are nearly 70s vintage technology…there is some point where to say stop…in the end, the last and best you can do on the N-001 was made for the russians for themselves…N-001V.
Still the AN/APG-70 have far better antenna design (slotted array with possible higher gain thanks to better efficiency factor inherent to slotted array) and should have better receiver and transmitter equipment (80s vintage) compared to Panda (N-001VEP, 70s vintage)…
In the EW side there is also no doubt that the ALR-56C/ALQ-128 EWWS/ALQ-135(v) combo is far superior to the L-150/L-005S, althorugh In my opinion, this should be more on the RWR side…the ALQ-128 is an unknown side on the equation…
AN/APG-70 have received anyway different upgrades on software along OFP tapes…
It should have also longer range and more comprehensive air/air modes. Maybe even better spot SAR resolution.
Nav equipment is also superior (based on RGL INS).
Su-30MKI/MKM/MKA is a more adequate parallel to the Strike Eagle.
But for the bang-for-the-buck relation of costs…no bad at all…the M-400 pod is also very nice :p
Rumours said that the Air Force guys were not really impressed with the Mi-35M and they would look for other things…there are some rumours of Mi-28NE, but myself see this system as too much inmature yet for a foreign procurment.
Army Aviation is buying 10 Mi-35M…

Mi-35M’s cockpit.
The book:

I hope to get my english version once it’s sold!…Ken, Aerospacetech et all, please keep us informed on the release date!
(370 pages book :p )
No, no Andrei stuff (sadly he seems to be too much busy with Vzlot journal even to paid us a visit here!, cheers!), I remind now his name Ildar Beretdinov, he’s a great Russian researcher and from what I have seen of the book on russian…is a MUST…
You can think it devotes a whole book to the T-10/T-10S topic, how much complete the darn thing it’s!!…we now have to see where he would sold it on the net…
P.S: Title of first book is: “Su-27: Beginning Of A History”
Ken surely could give us more details, but during this MAKS, will be presented the english version of a magnificent book (part of a trilogy) about the T-10/Su-27 history, the first book is totally devoted to T-10/T-10S R&D!!!…
I miss the author’s name, Flanker_man can you help?
NO, NO, NO
The Alpha missile I posted above have nothing to do with the KLUB missile family (developed by the NOVATOR bureau). Apart from name, they have nothing in common.
The air-launched version of the KLUB cruise missile is called KALIBER. Here is a picture. Note that it is completely different from the ALPHA missile I am talking about.
UAZ you should read what its quoted on the pics you shown…hope you read russian:
По словам Главкома ВВС России Владимира Михайлова, “…это очень эффективная в боевом применении машина (Су-34) с достаточно новым вооружением”. Модель самолета на стенде ХК “Сухой” с КР “Альфа” (НПОмаш) все еще выставляют, но работы по самой ракете уже не ведутся.

And:

3M54E = 3M54AE
3M54E1 = 3M54AE1
3M14E = 3M14AE
That’s the name conversion to airborne launched missiles in development.
BTW, the new improved ARM missile that its been mentioned on the Su-35 brochure is a Kh-58U development, its called Kh-58UShE, wideband radar homing receiver version of Kh-58U.
We already bough 3 EWR from China, JLY-1 I think are the name…they’re here, but the hell’s gone, I don’t even know where!…
No interesting comments about them, just some jokes with friends “funny big telephones” and “in the end they were situated in static posts”…supposedly they’re mobile equipment…
What we also bought and seems to be a great hope is a SATTCOM (comunications satellite) for both civil and military use, the SATTCOM space center is being constructed (althrough not enough funds have been allocated to it 😡 ) at Base Aérea Capitán Manuel Ríos (BAMARI)…chinese sat, hope it ends fine!…
FAV in the early 2000 tested (forced by political administration) the K-8 Karakorum, and the hell it didn’t satisfy us!, somebody says an engine-stall Tucano flew better than that!…
In the same sense, two political administration (Caldera and the current one) tried to made us buy the brazilean AMX-T/AT for CAS and LIFT…noody in the airforce ever acepted such a thing after years of political pression…the history of FAV’s LIFT aircraft is a tragic one (as nearly all our history with training aircraft), we were to be one of the first to buy the british BAe HAWk trainer along the F-16A/B Block 15 deal back then in 1981, but the Falklands/Malvinas war made us solidarize with the argies and we setback the deal…
You can count that, have passed 26 years and we still doesn’t have a LIFT!…hope this year end that nightmare.
I believe that the Bars radar trialled in the Su-27KUB was a more complete and capable variant than the one originally tested in 712.
Sean, Su-27KUB never trialled the Bars, only the Zhuk-MSE and the Zhuk-MSFE.
Supposedly…SUPPOSEDLY if it ever reaches production it would uses Irbis.
Yawn, face it- your country has bought the worst variant of the Flanker series when it could have had so much more. Just the classic nationalism we see here all the time.:p
:rolleyes: :rolleyes:
Yes, compared with the Su-30MKI, Su-30MKM and Su-30MKA is not all good…
Sorry boy, I’m not at your typical level, if correcting your conceptual errors is something wrong here…sorry..
Seems your comentaries are aniway more politically oriented, but I can live with that 🙂
