Plis no political BS here Rokosowsky we have enough with JSF talks.
Vymp, Ukrainka Bears along Engel’s Midas and Backfires from don’t know where also carried exercises in April-May of this year including the launch of Kh-55 missiles, Kh-22 missiles and unguided bombs.
I have a nice Article on this from Vzlet Journal, if you’re interested in any details I can easily put them here.
Bigvern are they any pics of UK operated Osa?…or from where they came?
I will translate some stuff from Vzlet journal by A. Fomin regarding Il-38SD, I hope that info could clarify these things better, but now I don’t remember exactly what was the point I made at BRF regarding the 96 channels acoustic system of “Sea Dragon” compared to 120 (IIRC) channels acoustic system of “Novella”…I don’t have heck idea what that means, I’m not an interested in ASW aircrafts.
Plis standby.
Who’s saying that MiG-29K/KUB will use Zhuk-MFE?
It will use Zhuk-ME (althorugh improved for higher resolution of SAR modes, 1 meter against 5 meter of original set)
Indeed Vympel, Al-41F1 would have more thrust than Al-41F1A/Izd 117S.
It will have a totally new core.
Al-41F1.
Al-41F1A is designation of Su-35’s engine, internal product code, Izdeliye 117S.
Bolivariano?, sort of joke.
Vietnamise Flanker are Su-30MK2V
Su-30MK2 uses N-001VEP with air/ground radar modes.
Forget french and multi-national stuff…impossible to install in so less time.
Zhuk-A is an hipotetical name for a NIIR Fazotron set shown last year at MAKS-2005. It was a “MiG-29 radar” (or intended to be, at least in dimensions), MBTF of 900 hours, range against a 3m2 RCS target of 200km, tracking of 30 targets. Many journalists like A. Fomin and P. Butowski think that such specs corresponds to an AESA set. Phisical presentation of the radar, speciall of the antenna array also depicts an AESA set.
Epaulet-A is a development of NIIP Tijomirov, using all Russian equipment (specially T/R modules) but is more a technological test-bed than a radar per-se. It’s a working example and work is on the matter.
For 80th time Irbis is not AESA, Irbis is developed by NIIP & GRPZ with a 3 year funding agreement signed by Sukhoi last June (with GRPZ, the production plant), there is NO ACKNOLOWGED INDIAN INVOLVEMENT (in case you have any doubt), and there is NO CONFIRMED STATEMENT OF ANY KIND that it would reach Su-30MKI.
In 2005, former chariman of Irkut Corporation, Alexey Fiodorov tolds that studies are being undertaken to guarantee that Su-30MKI would be “top-of-the-notch” while local production sets are delivered to IAF. That means, a MLU (sort of concept) is being studied for Su-30MKI along Indian counterparts. This could be anything including or not Irbis-E (export version of Irbis).
2 experimental Irbis sets have been built, first one will take-off in Su-30MK2 test-bed, second one will take-off in Su-35 prototype being developed. After that, other 2 sets will be built at NIIP workshops, after that, production line will be set at GRPZ (Ryazan) where Bars, N-001V/VE/VEP are built.
IADS? In Venezuela?
Sort of Joke.
First non Indian MKI order? Wont some of teh sub assemblies be Indian/French/Israeli?

Russia ignores US objections to seal Venezuela arms deal
Caracas buys Su-30MKI fighters to circumvent Washington’s F-16 spares embargoVenezuela last week signed a $1.3 billion arms deal with Russia, under which it will acquire 24 Sukhoi Su-30MKI multirole fighters and 30 Mil helicopters. Moscow approved the sale despite last-minute pressure from the USA to reconsider.
The Su-30MKI purchase represents the largest part of the 27 July contract. The aircraft will be delivered in a configuration similar to those already in service with the Indian air force. The deal also covers the provision of an extensive armaments package including beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles and precision-guided air-to-surface weapons, plus spare parts and crew training.
President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela has signalled that the first batch of six fighters will arrive in the country by December. The Su-30MKI fleet is intended to replace the air force’s Lockheed Martin F-16A/Bs, since Washington has refused to provide spare parts to support those aircraft following a spat with the Chavez administration. Sources suggest the new deal with Moscow also includes an option to acquire another 30 Su-30MKIs to replace Venezuela’s Dassault Mirage 50 fighters.
The rotary-wing package expands on earlier orders signed in 2004 and 2005, and is believed to comprise 14 Mi-17V5 transports and two Mi-35M2 assault helicopters for the Venezuelan army and 14 aircraft for the Venezuelan air force.
Media sucks. They’re Su-30MK2.
This use to happens always at the last days of July or earlier August…some kind of kharma, I don’t know.
Check it in the last years…awesome bad luck!
Djcross, your examples are good and you’re correct, but you have to correct the dates of the event, nobody bombed Osirak in 2001 🙂
