For those who want a short cut version.. Slip wing Hurricane. basicaly trying to think ahead to if part of the airfield got destroyed and the aircraft require a shorter take off run.. the top wing would be detatched in flight although i dont think this part of the testing took place.. the top wing being a lift platform only with no controls being run through it as in a biplane

I seem to remember that when the Mossi RR299 crashed its remains were in a scrapyard for a long time after but not one easy to get into for obviouse reasons..

I guess after a crash there is a wanting to see or touch something more tangible that holds a direct connection to the loss of the crew rather than just having a bit of a famous aircraft to hide away. When ive been in contact with relations of aircrew lost in crashes ive sometimes taken them to crash sites which is very emotional in its self. When a small part of that aircraft is produced the emotions go of the scale. its not always about the macarbre, sometimes its far deeper

well the Wimpy is an ongoing thing along with the Hampden and the boaty launch thing. i think the Nimrod is on display now and i believe an FW190 may be on the way if not already there??

im only suggesting a one way ticket for the Vulcan to a museum. by this time its flying hours would be up save for a few hours on the transit flight. once where ever it is it would be stripped of all usefull and serviceable spares that would be shipped back to the UK to be sold on to the live Vulcans we have here.. This way she would remain on the ground

Perhaps an exchange for something we have few of or none at all?. An airworthy Mossi would not go amiss or even an Airworthy Harrier but then the CAA get in the way!!!!
