changing the subject ever so slightly but on the same idea. i think they made drop tanks (P51 P47) out of paper mache. this is just to say its stronger and more durable than you would think
it should have been in the photographic section yes but at the time i layed another thread mentioning how hard it was to get into that section but later i did manage to work it out.
aint the end of the world is it though?
If the Mods have got their heads screwed on the right way they will stop any further comment on this until there is a responsible comment issued from a competent authority.
Resmoroh
bit harsh as there was no loss of life or loss of aircraft..
for those who may be unaware of the effects of FOD and for the fact that on the Vulcan if one engines throws its teddy out then it takes out the one next to it on occasion.. something i did not know but found quite interesting. i dare say it would be a common fault on most aircraft with coupled engines come to think of it.
sad news though. hope they dont scratch the new paint fixing it though
that Typhoons got a few extra lumps n bumps
ive been on the other side of the fence when in the RAF. even though im an aviation nut myself but not a collector of numbers etc.
there are certain times when no means “no” and the spotters were liable to get arrested or picked up and removed. at times during airshows etc some spotters seem to get into a number collecting frenzy and started stepping around barriers or even pushing them out of the way to get into restricted areas. you would have to bellow in no uncertain terms to get them back into the real world.. some on the other hand were polite enough to ask if i could take a photo of something they could not quite see or give them the number and i would be all to happy to help
certain shows, events and areas are restricted from an insurance point of veiw also. they cannot risk you being the other side of that barrier whilst they are around after closing hours. if you were to sneak in later then thats your own look out.
one of my mates was posted there with a 12 hour posting and warning to get of the camp asap (RAF Coningsby) after he was caught messing around with another airmans wife. there are a couple of places places up North where naughty boys n girls were sent
another show stopper that looks as though its gona stop, just like the Biggen Hill dip at the end of the runway
both ends of the spectrum heading S/E from shropshire
i only ever see this kind of big stuff when its way way up high with ruddy great long contrails
difficult to make out but its a pre 1950/55`s pressed steel chaincase. you have the outer part. the other half would be up against the crankcase and the 2 parts held together by a steel or ally band or by a series of screws as with yours with a rubber or cork (leaky) seal inbetween. its similar to AJS/MATCHLESS
from about 1955 onwards the leaks got a little less

Red Arrows, Bof B stuff quite regularly, various stuff from Waddo. Sky’s always got something buzzing overhead. (E3 doing ccts as I type) You can sit in my garden and watch the Arrows putting pretty smoke trails in the sky. TBH much as I admire the Reds you get a bit blase when they’re on your doorstep.
tis funny how that happens but you can take things for granted sometimes and then all of a sudden they are gone. make the most of it while you can.. there are many im sure that would be jealous of your view.
A dust speck on CCD sensor, or a dust spec somewhere in the optics is my guess 😉
took a few shots today but no dust etc on the other pics. although it is more than likely your suggestion or a bug going by that just happend to to get in the shot
to be fair if you want to look at the vid with “safety specs” on then there are a whole load of nasty things that could go wrong,,
engine or mechanical failure at low level and not many big clear area`s to put down or time to correct the issue,,
possible bird strike from flying low over forested area,,
other aircraft low flying in the area,,
Taliban shooting at you from camouflaged positions etc etc..
by the looks of it he has flown down there before and is not just a spure of the moment thing.. if i owned a high performance machine i think i would want to break the unwritten rules now n then and have “FUN”, hand on!! i do but they have 2 wheels instead of wings and when no ones looking i “may” go over the legal speed limit where it is safe to do so and weather and road conditions are in my favour without trying to break the sound barrier or my neck!!.
a little bit of a cheat as its not one of mine but had to share it
